I have been addicted to opiates for years since I Ihave found that taking tramadol in replace of lortab, etc..feels that need. Sometimes I thik I like it better. I dont get the "high" that you get on lorab, but it makes me feel better. I have heard that the withdrawl comig off of tramaditol is just as bad as coming off of opiates, is this true, I have never had to come off one or the other, yet. I have severe arthritis in both knees and my doctor writes both tramadol and lortab so I alternate between the two.

I have been taking tramadol for 2 years now for back issues,I have to warn you that if your planning on going off these pills so it a little at a time.I had tried to get off them about 6 months ago and after about 15 hours I had the worst pains in my legs and had hot flashes and did not sleep for 4 days, I had the worst case of wrestless leg syndrom ever,my legs had severe pain and were so weak that even getting up to walk a short distance was a struggle. They are saying this drug is a non narcotic but in fact I had a worst time getting off tramadol then i ever did on lortab. The withdrawls from lortab lasted a few days but the tramadol lasted over a week and then started taking it again because the withdrawls were so crazy it was better to take them to go off cold turkey.I advise anyone on this pain medicine to wean off them if they need to, DO NOT GO COLD TURKEY.I also just need to say that i would rather take tramadol then lortab becasue they actually work and I do not have that groggy feeling in the morning like i do when i am on lortab.hope this helps

thank you for your repley, I have heard the same thing from others about the effects of withdrawl from tramadol. I not sure even if you ween yourself off that it helps. Can you replace the lortab for the tramadol and come off of it that way? Do you think this would be better. Sometimes I take lortab when I dont have any tramadol but I always manage to get some within a day or two, so Im not sure. Please give me any advice on this.

yes i have taken lortab to help with the withdrawls of tramadol, its helped me so much, the withdrwal of tramadol is far worse then from lortab, i do think that if you take a lortab instead of a tramadol you will be fine,i have used them to get off the tramadol and had zero withdrawl effects, good luck |
