seizures whilst on topamax

Hi, i have been on topamax for 5 months now to treat my servere migraines, Iam currently suffering with absent seizures my doctor informs me that this is not a side effect from the tablets and iam awaiting for a MRI scan. I was never like this prior to taking this medication and truely belive its a side effect.

Is there any one has suffered absent seizures whilst on this medication???

Realy wish i had never taken this medication, iam a wreck :(

Of the many side effects, either minor or serious, associated with Topamax, seizures never topped the list. The drug is an anticonvulsant so it does not make sense that one of its side effects is having seizures. However, if it is experienced by a patient then we cannot discount it, and further study would be needed. In the meantime, learn more about Topamax side effects on this site:

i had same problem as you and my mri came back clear... nero couldmt expalin it to me... im getting off of topamax

I have ordered prescription drugs (without a prescription) online from http://inhousegeneric.info about two years ago, and was pleased with the speed and quality of service.
I'm thinking of doing the same thing with my medication. The meds is expensive, but there is a generic version available overseas.
I love the idea of taking responsibility for my own health (or lack of health) and skipping the bureaucracy... to say nothing of having to drive to the doctor, wait in line, yet again, to get a prescription refilled.

I started having these "pauses" when I started taking Topamax for 24/7 dizziness(thought to be migraine related). These pauses seem alot like absent seizures. Never had seizures before. Family Dr. weaning me of Topamax to see if its a side effect. See the neurologist in a few days.
