My post was too long so here's a condenced version.
I was on 20mg Paxil for 2 weeks. freakout out. nervous fits, couldn't sleep, couldn't sit still, couldn't eat. My doctor thought I was having an anxiety attack so this physiatrist puts me on 25mg of Serequel at the same time. After two weeks I quit taking the Paxil and started feeling better. But still groggy from the Serequel.

After three weeks on Serequel I decided to cut back to 12mg and I did this for four days. Last night I didn't take anything. I went back to work and pulled a night shift.

But at 7:30 this morning I laid down to goto sleep. But my heart started beating faster. I didn't sleep much and I've been up for mostly 36 hours and feel wide awake. Also had some frequent urination and bowel movements.

The weird thing is this drug should be out of my system but I'm feeling typically the same side effects as I did when I was taking Serequel. So is the withdrawl symptoms typically the same as the side effects?

Did I come off this drug too quick even after just 3 weeks on 25 mg? Is this common after coming off Serequel?

I would give any drug at least 4-6 weeks and go from there..it needs to get in your system and increase the dose as you go to really give a real opinion on it

I have not been right since taking serequel. My Dr. had me on 900 mg a day and when I read 900mg had not been studied, I called serequel to verifiy it. They told me the same. I have gotten a dui for taking serequel because I didn't know it was making me sleep walk. I took it a 9pm and at 730 am I was still in a sleep walk state. The dr told me take the meds and go to sleep and I believe this is the reason I did not know it was making me sleep walk. I just tried to commit suicide on serequel because it was so bad. I now have dcf in my life and the counselor told me that I had been overdosing on the serequel for a long time, but not enough to kill me. I had lost about 85 lbs and the dr didn't monitor my weight and kept upping my dosage. I think serequel is very dangerous. I really need some help. If you can't help me can you point me in the direction to an attorney in my area that will help. Because of the dui and I never had one and don't even drink it has cost me and my mother around 30000.00 so far and 8more months of probation. Please help. I will be available early in the morn or in the evenings. I also have had fevers, stiff muscles, severe sweating, fast heartbeat and very low blood pressure, and severe confusion. The confusion has stopped since stopping this drug. I was diagnosed with dementia when I was on this med. My drs will be of no help because they dont want to get involved. but i can get a report showing dementia since on this med. my cholestorol was elevated to the point of needing medicine for that. I was told to loose weight for this. I did, but the dr didn't monitor me properly. I wasnt going to sue him for the dui because he is human, but since the suicide attemt I am now angry that not one dr noticed the change in me. My family sure noticed. They dont talk to me anymore because of what it has done. Help

James,

I had a very similar reaction when being taken off of seroquel. I was on 900mgs when I was lowered to 450, then 200. I felt great for about a week - Then I really started jumping out of my skin. I went back up to the 450mgs and have been better (this was a long time ago, but I can sympathize). tee is very correct about waiting till the drug clears your system. Every drug has it's own half-life. I don't know what it is for seroquel, but 4-6 weeks is a good time for it to clear your system.
ALSO : I do not know your diagnosis, but this was the time I was diagnosed as bipolar. I have no right to say, but it might be worth checking out.

Hope I could help.

Colette,

Wow!!!

I don't know what time-frame or when (date) you were taking the seroquel, but I was on more than 1000 for a while - and that was many years ago.
Seroquel IS very dangerous...especially in the hands of an ignorant dr.
Even if your dr. DIN'T monitor your wieght, he surely would have noticed a drop of 85 lbs!!! That's neglagence right there. As far as upping your dossage - while being a VERY STUPID and IGNORANT move on your dr.'s part - he has no liability there, as he is a dr.
Get ALL of the paperwork you can from your dr...charts, notes, medication information, prescription data - and a good attorny.
I'm not too good with the legal side of things, but I know that there are lawyers that are out there that will help people like YOU for little or no charge. Maybe try asking a counselor...or several counselors.
...and before you talk to your lawyer : WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN THAT YOU CAN REMEMBER!!! Some seemingly little, insignificant details can win over a case for you.
I think you've got a pretty good case for neglagence there - But ask around; councelors, therapists, community leaders - they'll point you in the right direction of a good attorny.

Hope this helps...at least a little...

Hi, I am glad to find your story because I have suffered the same high dosage of serequal around 800mg (sometime I take 6 to 8 tablets just to stone myself out because i have schizophrenia and severe depression) No, serequel can't kill me, but it also sleep walk and I fell on my knee twice and fracture them pretty seriously. It is side affect make us think like zombi and act like one as well. I belive you need to inform me more of your medical condition (if you like). I turned cold turny N times, it will not work with 900mg, 200mg of 100mg (1/2 tablet) every month will be ideal and write down day to day any symptoms. God bless you , I look forward to hearing from you.

Serequel can be helpful in the right dosage and for the right diagnosis. As mentally ill patients, we need to look into just the drugs, what other psychotropic pill such as SSRI (prozac, zolof, effessor..antidepressant), benzodiazepam (sedative for panic attack..mood stablizer) such as zolof, valium...watch for drug interaction. Keep up with MD appointment and research on your own as well because it is still account as new generation of tranquilizer.
I hope to DC it because I can't longer hold a job or get out of house. If any one like to help me out. I will be love to because I myself also earned a MD and Pharm.D title before I was taken away from mental illness

your key words "it cost me 8 months more of probation" and stating right before that you were never arrested for a DUI are disturbing. what were you on probation for in the 1st place? reading the rest of your post is also disturbing as well. you mention a lawsuit (or words pointing to one) several times. it appears to me you are looking for a pot of gold at someone elses expense. try another medication. people like you are why the cost of medical treatment has gotten out of hand in this country.

You just have to be careful on Serequil, i took 100mg twice a day and 800 at night, the 200 durin the day made my life so horrible, so i stopped.I still take it at 800 at night but only b/c it works with other meds i take at night, if i didn't take the other meds, id only take like 500-600, if i take taht with no other meds its better then when i take 800 by itself, when i take 800 alone i feel like im gonna die. High heart beat, my chest feels like im gonna have a geart attack, and it really scares me. But if i take 800-1,000 with ambien it works together and its better than anything. Its my calling it makes me have a great night of sleep for like 10-12 hours. I feel so much better the next day b/c i got a good night of sleep. So do what i do, I guarentee a great night of sleep.

It appears to me you are good at tearing apart an individuals e-mail with little or no information on the drug itself. I was prescribed the drug for insomnia and it made me sleep walk, have an irregular heart beat, and lose 17 pounds-- from 115 to 98 pounds. I would hold off on your conspiracy theoires NY.

My daughter and I have very similar brain chemistry (apparently). We both deal with depression and borderline bipolar disorder. Our doses are WAY lower than I've read here (100mg before bed), but I can't imagine how you could take care of yourself on 800/900. We both know that it works for us in some aspects, but I have trouble functioning until close to noon. I'm afraid that it might be interfering with my job and could be putting other people's safety at risk. I'm not recommending going cold turkey or changing your own dose, but I need to get a second opinion.

wow how do you guys function on 500+ mgs of seroquel. I've never taken more then 50 and this stuff will put you to sleep instantly. I like it a lot cause every night it really helps me to relax and go to sleep. I only take lik 10mgs of it now just to help me sleep.

I couldn't imagine being on 1000mgs of seroquel. Good luck
