I currently take 200mg Provigil and 75mg Effexor daily. I know from the past, myself and other's comments, that horrible dreams often accompany Effexor withdrawl. When I last went off Effexor I followed my doctor's advice and tapered the dosages down which seemed to help.

I have noticed much more vivid dreams since beginning Provigil - really vivid dreams.

I'm trying ti get some info on the side effects- I am so happy with the effect Provigil has had on my sleep apnea, but the stomach problems may be severe enough to make me go off it. I have been unable to work because of it. I would like to know if anyone has experienced this problem and if it goes away, and what to do for it.

I too am taking provigal for bipolar, along with resperdal. Though I have not been taking it for as long of a time. How well has it been working. Does it provoke mania at any times?

I am an adult diagnosed with ADD and I have been prescribed Provigil because the usual ADD meds have not been effective or because of thier side effects. Has anyone used this for ADD with success? I have been taking it for only two weeks and it makes me feel tired. Initially, I had headaches and a slight feeling of nausea.

I have CFS and have been taking Provigil on and off for the last 6 months. It does keep me awake, but causes extreme episodes of dissociation that last for up to 5 days.. I feel like I completely leave my body. I have searched the internet to see if anyone has experienced dissociation as a side effect, but so far I seem to be the only one. I love being able to stay awake, but I "come down" a few hours after taking it.. I would compare it to the mental comedown off of amphetamines, and my anxiety escalates as well. Now I just drag through the days and save the Provigil and side effects for finals and midterms. Has anyone else dealt with the dissociation?

Will you explain what you mean by "disassociation"? I felt I may have experienced something like that.

I had been prescribed 200 mg a day for shift work sleep disorder. Recently, I used more than what was prescribled to stay awake longer because I had a lot of things I wanted to get done. I woke up with my left arm completely numb and it remained that way for 2 hours after rising. Throughout the week it continued to get numb and sever pain would come and go. I just realized yesterday that it could be the Provigil so today is the first day that I will not be taking it. These symptoms are still ocurring so I won't know for sure for a few days if this will work.

I have also had this "disassociation" feeling. I have only been takin Effexor for a few days and noticed it as I was washing my hands. I would describe it like I was watching someone wash their hands. Like in the movie "Being John Malkovich" :) I feel great though... restless at night, but adjusting the time of day you take it does seem to help.

I have taken Provigil for 2 years, ritalin for 10 years, & now have severe IBS now. I think the disassociation began a long time ago, before Provigil.
The last two years have been so amazing. Yes, I have an awful tummy but I was finally awake and a participant in my own life. All meds have stayed at the same dosage for all of these years.
I recently moved, time for a local psych.DR and so far, I haven't found a doc who will listen to me AND read my medical file AND consider med management. They all want to "see it for themselves." They all seem to want to try their own "chemical combinations" on my brain.
This will be my first time off meds in two years and I am very scared.
Any advice?

Provigil 200 Mg......
I have also taken Provigil for several years now.
Two a day (400 Mg).
This drug in combination with two others, is the only combination that helps my chronic anxiety and allows me to manage the day.
I have only had one side effect, when I first started taking Provigil, that being headaches. After a month or so the headaches left and have had no other side effects and less anxiety since.

I have had to stop for a few days, involuntary, when I'm saving for enough money to refill. There is an energy letdown but no other side effects that I'm aware of.
It's just so expensive!
