There is nothing rong with taking drugs to stay awake if only car drivers new how tuff truckies do it there is like no truck stops any where for them to stop so they are forced to push on all the stops are 5tonne limited anyway is seen something on a sign one day it said truckies need to shit and sleep to and thats true do u expect truck drivers to not go to the toilet do u expect tuckie to keep driving after there 12 hours are up.

If truck drivers have to stay up why in the hell are they taking Benzo's and Darvon anyway? Come on..they should not be taking anything at all.

I do understand the amphetamines more than anything but the others ??? NO WAY. I know truckers have to meet deadlines but if they know they cant do it then they need to make other arrangements and not take the load. Some are in it just for the money and out to prove they can get from California to New York in a certain amount of time. A lot truckers work by the loads they get and are independent contractors. If they work for a company driving there are stricter rules to work by...fear of losing a job or even their truck.

In it for the money, you don't know many truckers do you? With gas at over $3 a gallon and all the other costs, besides running a household at home, there is not much left over at the end of the day. My husband is a trucker and he doesn't take drugs of any kind. With the insurance companies now days, drug tests happen all the time, and the truckers never know when they will be tested.I dare the police to test the drivers in the cars to see how many of them are on drugs.

O common, drugs ain't that bad. They help you stay awake, but excese amounts are DANGEROUS. But i do agree if they need to take drugs to stay awake they shouldn't be a trucker. Truckers have to drive for long hours, but if they can't do it without drugs then they shouldn't be doing it at all. But that is just what i think.

First, you say that common drugs are fine to help them stay awake, and then you say that if they have to take drugs to stay awake, they should NOT be a truck driver.

Too many people dying on the highway by pharmaceutical drugs including those that commit suicide while on psychotropic drugs killing innocent people, families and children. Insurance and medical cost are high because the pharmaceutical industry and mental health and counseling industry conspire together for profits and could care less who is injured or dies.
Look at the facts. There is no test for chemical imbalance as admitted to by the American Psychiatric Association. Yet, the mental health and counseling industry has sung that song for more then 25 years and psycho-drugged a large portion of the population on made to order mental diseases that threaten our society with violence and murders by unstable person on those drugs. Time to take the funding and at the same time, do away with the Disability and Federal school system program of "Ideal" that funds States on the number of children diagnosed with the bogus ADD/ADHD and other so called mental problems that the evil industries of the Pharmacutical and mental health and counseling have created and lobbied to have listed as a disability. That's why your children are mentally compromised when they are normal.

Are you nuts? My cousin was a truck driver (Long Haul) when everyone was taking cross tops, and he will tell you that there is everything wrong with it. Luckily he got scared and quit driving truck before he killed himself and or anyone else. If you cant hack it buddy, you shoukdnt even have a DL, let alone drive a big rig..I hope you get caught before something trajic happens.If you kill anyone on the road while under the influance, that is felony manslaughter, and you will go to prison for a very long time.
I havent driven a car while under the Influance since October31,1984. I was using IV heroin. and nodded out at the wheel All of a sudden I came out of it, and realized I missed hitting a child by inches.I went to rehab 2 days later, and even though I relapsed many times, I will never get into the drivers seat loaded, and for anyone who does, I have no compassion for you. You can kill people with your Big Rig.
