my mom has been on prednisone for 11 yrs. she has been down to 10 for several years they moved it up to 50 she is like in a wakefull coma and when she does something she keeps repeating herself over an over again, cat scan of the brain all of a sudden shows brain of 80-90 yr old she is just 51, can this drug do this she has severe long term side effects, tissue like skin, GI Bleed sever bone deteration please help

I would suggest to drink Mangosteen Juice.
Dr Frederic Templeman in the Health Journal #44 said,

has anyone seen this kind of behavior from anyone taking steroids? I have a patient who has Rhuematoid Arthritis. My son and daughter have been on steroids since about the age of3 months off and on. I was told as long as they are not on them for an extended period of time that there would be no life long side effects. well my son is 11 and my daughter is 8 now and I have noticed some major side effects that I believe to be from the steroids. My daughter is very very aggressive and cant control her emotions. she has more medical problems then an old lady. my son has just started have problems controlling his emotions and for some years now he has had touretes symptoms. they tell me it is tourrettes but I really think it is the meds. he repeats himself so much much and makes funny noises. before they ever placed my kids on these drugs the only problem they had was RSV. I really doubt that rsv can cause so much damage to a child that they would suffer the rest of their life.

can you overdose on this drug? if so how much my friend is telling me she wants to die and she will take the hole bottle.

Is it better to start on Prednisone and give it a chance, or to try something different (?Mangosteen Juice) first? My Dr wants to start me on Prednisone at 40 -60 mg daily, for 1 to 2 years and see if I go in remission. If I take the Mngosteen Juice, how do they know how to dose it? I'm just terrified of Prednisone. Will someone please answer me? Thank you.

I take prednisone and I have side effets, Im aggressif, rapid heart beat, the shakes, can`t concentrate, and I can`t not sleep for day`s, Im very agitaded..... I take that for my Cronh`s... I think I have to see the doctor because I think Im going crazy.....

I had those VERY same side effects... wean off ASAP and go the natural route. Get mangosteen juice from your local health food store. The juice that is 100 percent mangosteen juice. The one they sell at Sam's wholesale has too many "other" ingredients. The purer the better. It's about $30.00 for a 32 ounce bottle but worth every penny. It is a natural anti-inflammatory that helps crohn's. Google it to see other benefits with NO side effects. I, too, was taking a medrol dose pack for 4 days when the doctor switched me to prednisone 20mg for 4 days, then 10mg for 4 days. My sinuses did not get better...i just got every side effect to this dangerous drug...but once i weaned off, my side effects gradually are getting better....now that it's been 5 weeks. I called the pharmacist and told me I could`t stop the Prednisone just like that, it was to dangerous for me,and my doctor is on vacation so I could`t talk to him on friday....my heart rate is still up but and I can`t not sleep:(

At rest my heart goes up to 160 bpm and when I`m walking it can go up to 200 bpm so it`s very high but today I took 7 pills and I`m down with 6 tomorow...

I finally went to the doctor and he told me to stop the prednisone, it`s been 3 days and I`m still feeling the effect of the prednisone, I was very shaky and my body was sore all over, now the doctor is going to admit me to the hospital the get Remicade, I dont know if it`s going to help me...

Thank GOD you are OFF of prednisone. Candy, I've been off of it for 6 1/2 weeks now and I still feel the effects just not as bad. The shakes lasted 2-3 weeks after I got off. That's your body going thru withdrawals. I still have the soreness just not as bad as it WAS. You can get through this. Keep me updated. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU. Have heard my patient as tell me about the ravages of steroids for many years (transplant patients usually have to be on them to prevent organ rejection) Now I put on them myself for 5 weeks 30mg twice a day now for MS type symptoms ( no diagnosis yet ) Am slowly weaning down and will go off ASAP. They made my syptoms worse.( teffible fatigue,falling asleep, tremors, mood swings, bloating, gained 10 lbs in 3 weeks, heartburn.0
I have seen the benefits of some "short term use of steriods w/allergies and asthma attacks". Can someone tell me exactly what Mangosteen Juice is made of?. My concern is that I am allergic to most of the peach/melon type of fruits?.
