Nervous about my prednisone prescription

I developed an accute respiratory infection, while on vacation in the north east USA. I grew up with asthma, so I'm used to having bronchitis...but this was different...and worse in some ways, and scared me. I went to the Doc, and he put me on...

100mg of Doxycycline per day
60mg of Prednisone per day
250/50 Advair Discus per day
and an inhaler of Albuterol

The side effects are...to be honest, making me very nervous. I was warned about increased blood pressure. I think that may be what is occuring, but since my blood pressure is normally low, I don't know what it's supposed to feel like. My head feels very weird..sort of an anxious feeling....warm....and my whole body feels that sort of anxious feeling as well. My heart is mostly OK, but sometimes acts up a little...which is nothing too new to me, since I suffer from occasional (rarely, actually) atrial fibrilation.

I guess I'm just concerned cause this doesn't feel right, and they said to take all three 20mg pills of the Prednisone at the SAME TIME...not 5 or 6 or 8 hours apart.

Does any of this sound familiar to you? Is it normal? Should I be overly concerned? Thanks in advance for your advice.

Taking 60 mg of prednisone all at once is not a concern, i've taken much higher doses in prep for my nose polyps operation, surgeon had no problem prescribing this for me ... and the effects were none except shrinking my nose polyps to almost nothing, which was a good thing
you shouldn't concern yourself too much with a high dose all at once , best of luck to you

Prednisone (http://www.originaldrugs.com/medicine/prednis... ) is a very potent drug and should be taken at the lowest effective dose (e.g. if you can achieve desirable results with 5 mg you don’t need to try higher dose). And although it is very effective, it has a long list of side effects.

Prednisone is a the side affects are sometimes more serious than the disease the drug that is prescribed for just about any thing, and as you read the studies,
you will see for yourself!!
Please get a second opinion when you are prescribed prednisone.

Amen, jane. Prednisone is no joke. It's one of the most potent drugs on the market. Get a second opinion, definitely. Do not EVER take it if you don't have too.

I've been taking prednisone for a year and i have notice a big change on my vision. I don't like this drug,I started with 20m and I had very crazy thoughts .
know I only take .5m but I wish I could stop takeing it once and for all.
