FDA Approves Generic Cholesterol Medication

I recently started taking zocor and had memory lost and heart palpitations... then the doctor switched me to pravastatin ..which I suppose to be taking now. I am so very afraid to start this medication now. I have been taking fish oil for the last 3 months and it has came down some. Tell me what should I do.

I am sorry but I must say these Doctors are out to just make money off of you. Everytime I mention I want to take natrual herbs for my cholestrol my Doctor acts unseamly.My sister stop taking her cholestrol pills and started taking omega 3 pills and her level did a whooping jump from 160 to 70 in little of no time. When she went back to her doctor he told her that she is doing wonderful. Her cholestrol is down. the doc thinks that she took the pills and she stoped them months ago and just took the omega 3 pills. Lil did he no she never took another cholestrol pill . It just came down only by using the OMEGA pills.

I've been taking pravastatin for 6 months and have had all kinds of back pain, heart skipping beats, insomnia, and for the last month or so.....anxiety! I was FINE before I started taking this drug! I went for my annual check-up and Dr. said my cholesteral was a little high, put me on pravastatin.......anyway, I stopped it one week ago today! Cold turkey! I've read you shouldn't do that, but I want NO MORE of this in my body. Anyway, my question is....I STILL feel like I have the flu, weak achy legs, ANXIETY, and just not feeling well all over. How LONG does it take to get this out of my system and start feeling better? How long?

I am a pharmacist（medicina l chemist）. It is submitted from several companies such as TEVA, RANBAXY, LEK PHARMS and CHUNGWA CHEMICAL・&#1253 9;・ to FDA for the generic of Pravachol/provastatin(DMF: Drug Master File). Please teach why TEVA obtained exclusive rights. And, side effects on its too.

Been on Pravastatin about a year. Was having lots and lots of issues (fatigue, memory fog, nausea, stomach pain etc etc - so as a test my doc told me to come off the Pravastatin for the two week period until I saw him again. "just to see if that would make any difference in my symptoms". Note: Cold Turkey stop of the drug. Well .. 5 days later my issues cleared and within days I felt fantastic - unfortunately a week and a half later I broke into MASSIVE head to toe rash and hives. Doc had no idea the cause - but a friend of mine felt that it could be due to stopping the Pravastatin. Anyone experience this with stopping that med.

I TOOK THIS PRAVASTATIN FOR 14 DAYS IT PUT ME IN THE BED, AN HAD MY LEFT SIDE NUM AN LIKE MY BODY ORGANS WAS SHUTTING DOWN, IT TOOK ABOUT 1 WEEK OR A LITTLE LONGER FOR ME TO GET BETTER AFTER I STOP TAKING THIS, TOLD MY DOCTOR HE SAID I DID THE RIGHT THING TO STOP IT, AN HE STATED IT CAN CAUSE MEMORY LOSS, IS WHAT HE HAD HEARD AN I SAID THEN WHY PUT ME ON IT.
