I also got in big trouble using Plavix and Nexium. Luckily I survived. I only needed three new stents. When I got another medicin for my stomac my INR raised extremely (from 2 to 10)and I needed vitamine K to bring it back. I thougt that the change if medication was for financial reasons but since this week I know about the effect of Nexium on Plavix. This is for me enough prove that Nexium in combination with Plavix is something to avoid. I've read this article and I am shocked and very sad that now, six months later!!!, so many people are still in risk loosing their health and even life because nobody is warned yet.

i was prescribed plavix when I had my first sign of heart problems and then they put me on nexium because the medicine was messing with my stomach
I had 2 stent placements on the first hospital trip, then I believe it was approximately 9-12 months later one collasped. I had to have that one replaced. They had to leave the bad one in because they said it would cause more damage trying to retrieve it. In July of this year I went in to have the arterior gram like normal I began feeling the same symptoms as I did the very first time. When I came to from the anesthesia I was in for more than I was ever expecting. My Kidneys had litterally shutdown, my bowel section was totally unoperating, my right leg from the hip down to my knee is totally paralyzed, I have no feeling at all. My cardiologist diagnosed my condition as brought on by the mixing of Plavix and Nexium that caused my blood to cogulate that blocked all arteries 100%, it is a total miracls that I am still here to write about it today.

I have been on Nexium for years. I had three stents 1-23-09 and put on Plavix. 2-5-09 I had a heart attack and again 2-12-09. My cardiologist never mentioned the fact that Nexium and Plavix do not mix. My pharmacist advised me TODAY, 10-6-09 that the two medications do not mix. I have researched on the internet and the problem was very well known when my cardiologist sent me home with Plavix and Nexium.

I have been taking Nexium for almost fifteen years. When I developed acid reflux my physician tried me on everything he knew. I had truly reached a point where I said, "I can't keep on living like this!" Then, by chance, another physician tried me on Prilosec. It was a miracle drug for me and I now take Nexium which I can tell is an even better drug for acid reflex. About four years ago I had my first two stents placed. I now have ten to fifteen stents having lost count a long time ago. My Cardiologist has never warned me about this conflict nor have any other specialists. I learned about it on a sports radio show! It concerns me that I may have to stop the Nexium. My cadiologist says I must never, ever miss a day of my Plavix.

I have since the end of may '09 Ranitidine for my stomach and I have no problems. It's not only Nexium but all medicins which have esomeprazol or any other protonpompremmers/-inhibitors (I don't know the English word for it.
A month ago my hart was checked and there was no more clotting than it was after the last stents given the end of may. This can mean that I am stable again like I was before I got the combination Nexium x Plavix.
I am sad and very, very angry that I have lost so much health by the angina pectoris I got from this medicincombination.
