Hi Kaycee,

Try alcohol on your scalp to kill surface crawlers. And the pour-on can be applied right on the scalp. It's supposed to obsorb into the blood stream and become systemic but I think it mostly effects the areas where it's applied. Remember Avermectins only kill adult mites. It's good that you're using Permethrin to kill immature mites.

Keep treating to kill new hatchers. The eggs are a real big problem.

I've got the Dectomax pour-on. I think doramectin is oily and it's put in some sort of alcohol base. I've found it more effective if I used more than the labeled dose of 1 cc per 22lbs. What the hell... at least my dead body won't be eaten up by parasites. And I have Lindane which I don't think kills the eggs, even though it's supposed to.

Thank you for the suggestion! I will try the alcohol based Ivermectin pour-on which I had replaced with the Ivomec Eprinex. I was having pretty good success with it until I switched because the oil felt better in the other type.
I have two spots that are difficult because I already had sensitive scalp issues. This critter infestation gravitated toward the sensitive area and is reluctant to leave. I have had success but not complete eradication due to the eggs as you mentioned. Excellent suggestion! Again, Thank you!

I was recently diagnosed with scabies unfortunately. It seems like I am due an ongoing battle but I refuse to give in to the notion that I will have this for months.

I have constantly been applying perm 5% on myself and wash my sheets, towels, and any clothes I even TRY ON. I think that's really all you CAN do in order to break the cycle. The eggs are the problem. Since we probably had the pesky little buggers way before we actually sought help, that means we have several cycles of birth to kill. My best advice from everything I've read is to make it a daiy habit of throughly washing/spraying disinfectant on anything we touch. That means our house, car, office, etc. Iron your mattress even or buy a plastic cover! And constantly apply a prescription cream. My itching has subsided after a few days but there are four things I keep with me and CONSTANTLY use. Perm 5%, Lysol spray, hydrocortisone (which is over the counter...helps me NOT to itch and spread eggs), and lastly an insect repellent that specifically mentions 'chiggers' and 'no-see-ums' and has picaridin. Maybe the last one is unnecessary but in my opinion, every little bit helps and makes me feel better!

Hope that alcohol is helping your scalp. I thought the pour-on was systemic but the vet who has been treating my dog for mange said the pour-on does not have a carrier that would make it systemic, so it basically stays on and works on the area where it's applied.

I had Scabies one year ago.. I treated them twice with the cream given to me by the doctor.. but recently I've been itching again, I got my thigh yesterday to where its starting to bruise from my itching. I haven't been in contact with anyone who has had it recently, could this still be the same case of Scabies I had a year ago and treated twice? Or am I just paranoid?! I can't help but think about the 3 months of hell I endured last year. Advice?

treat it. go to the doctor and have it checked out. get yourself some permethrin cream again. the sooner you get it, the sooner it will cure.

the pour on has to be systemic. anything you put on your skin, will go into your bloodstream. especially, this ivermectin pour-on. it's just another way of administering ivermectin. orally, intravenously, and topically. hello? what is your vet's phone number. I will talk to them.

I found the dectomax pour to work very well. Although, both ivermectin pour on and dectomax pour on are both based with alcohol and oil. you will be fine, Mite Killer.

when they apply this to the cows, they don't apply it to the entire cow, to cure them of mange. they apply to their backs, which it is absorbed into the bloodstream.

Thanks to all replies. I used the alcohol with limited relief. I have both types of pour on. One is the alcohol base and the other has oil with some alcohol. I believe these are parasites of a different type on the scalp.since I have been using the pour on all along. What I have found that gives me hope on the scalp is using provodine iodine. It stains the scalp but my hair is dark brown and now I am an auburn. I also use the Nizoral (both shampoo and cream) and Derma-Smoothe scalp creams for conditions which the Derms prescribed for what they thought was exzcema/seborrhea dermatitis/fungus. I do not have crawlers but rather tingles and lively action in a centralized location in two spots, which is truly annoying. So far, the provodine iodine seems to be controlling whatever the dickens this stuff is. I keep you posted.

I also use the perm along with the provodine iodine. The provodine iodine is supposed to be an anesthestic. I have seen tiny microscopic sized bits of debris smaller than this(.)and some about the size of a period fall from my scalp since using it. The red in the providine iodine stains whatever this debris is which makes it easier to see. I know that I will beat this. I just know it and will keep thinking positive thoughts.

To clarify, I am using the providine iodine and perm on my scalp only. I still use the pour on for full body and I treat full body every time I take a treatment.

Provodone Iodine is supposed to kill microganisms in 3-5 minutes and has been used for centuries. It may not be the most user-friendly in that it stains but certainly works. Caution against using it if you have allergies to shellfish.

Betadine vs Iodine...

Iodine's use in the treatment of wounds was first described in 1839. By the late 1800's, iodine tinctures came into wide use as microbicides. Iodine quickly kills a broad range of microorganisms. In laboratory test, iodine destroys many microorganisms and viruses within 3-5 minutes. How iodine kills these microorganisms and viruses is not exactly understood, but it rapidly penetrates cell walls, stops or interferes with protein syntheses and reacts with cell membranes and membrane bound structures.

Exclusive Information about a man made human pathogen, one that resembles a louse/scabies LIKE infestation c.q. infection.

Keywords: persistent scabies like condition/ microbial resistance/ivermectine and permithrin resistance.

A cloned vector has been isolated June 2008.
This vector resembles a mite/louse entity, one that may show the classic breackfast, lunch, dinner trail on affected skin parts.

Pesticides may function as growth promoters.

Scull and face may prove to be affected;
hence standard treatment against scabies would not suffice.

This type novel infestation is on very strong suspicion of; cause of a parasitic induced type folliculitis c.q. secondary infectious process.

Keywords: treatment failure/therapy resistant skin disease

Please do not post information on Morgellon's.
This is the scabies forum. Morgellon's is an
as of yet unidentified disease, that may or may not be associated with nanothech based atmospheric spraying. Scabies is CURABLE and has
existed since the dawn of time.
Morgellon's is likely man- made, and a different battle in a different war. Best of luck to you and any who are affected.

I have been battling scabies for three months and am only now seeing some moderates success, after disinfecting my home and family numerous times. We are getting Ivermectin in two days, and combined with a strict cleaning regimen and permethrin I am confident we will beat these monsters. Keep fighting, people, and thanks to all of you for posting!

This is a post from another forum. This is something that is effecting so many people out there. There is a superbug out there.
Dear friends, Thank you for the opportunity to join your group. My
name is and I am a teacher (and loving it!!) I am spending my
summer vacation working on preparing for the next school year (I know,
I am a fanatic). But last school year right before FCAT (Florida's
state test) I developed what appeared to be a spider bite. I remember
the timing because our AP was going over the contingency plan should
some teachers be absent and she made a comment about the "bite".
Nothing happened immediately except the "bite" didn't want to clear
up. It didn't get bad or infected, but just remained open and when it
finally closed up, it was still very visible.
Then about a month before school was over, every night when I went to
bed, I thought I would go mad with things crawling on me, biting and
stinging me. I would turn on the light, try to find something but
nothing ever appeared. My husband said he was itching too, but he
always successfully slept through the night. As for me, I would be
lucky if I got 2 hours of sleep.
Now you have to know something about me – I hate going to the doctor.
Always have. Never had my children vaccinated – used herbal
treatments for everything. My husband used to grow herbs and make
tinctures.(Not any more since we move to FL) So I began looking for
information as to what my problem might be. At first I thought it was
scabies.

My husband went to the doctor and she prescribed the scabies
meds for him without even looking for a possible site and identifying
the creatures (this is why I hate going to the doctor, because it is
so hard to get them to actually give you your money's worth by
listening to you. My uncle was the only doctor I liked and that's
because his philosophy was "listen to your patients long enough and
eventually they will tell you what's wrong with them")
But the more I read about scabies, the more it just didn't fit the
bill. I never saw any zigzag trails, my itching was definitely in my
nose and ears and head, and I heard that scabies were microscopic,
but I definitely saw things at different times.
I began taking borax baths and they brought a little, very little
relief. School got out and I attended some ESOL classes. While
sitting and listening to the instructor, I thought I would lose my
mind, as it felt like things were crawling all in my bra.(Please
excuse me) So I went to the restroom and turned my bra inside out and
shook it over the sink and all these little black things were in
there, but upon close examination, they appeared to be fuzzballs, not
creepy-crawly bugs.
Hopefully I'm not boring you with all the details. I continued to get
what looked like spider bites and brown flecks on my body. I used the
promethrin cream my husband got, but it did nothing. I kept taking
borax baths and always felt like I saw little black things in the
water while I was bathing, but we have a well, so I didn't know if it
was just dirt.
Then I found it! the first thing that actually appeared to do
something. I found an old bottle of teatree oil that I've been
hauling around forever. I put it in some olive oil and spread it all
over my body. As I watched, black filaments and black specks began to
appear on my body. The open sores started to get better immediately
and some of the flecks disappeared. I continued this for several
days. But last night I was still itching and feeling desperate, so I
dosed myself again and took a superhot borax and Epsom salts bath.
The results were shocking. I don't know if it came from the drain or
from me, but these two red BIG fuzzballs (a bit slimy, too) were
floating in the water and what looked like a tiny bug with looong legs
was floating around. Also lots of black specks were floating in the
water. I began to feel really sick, so I got out, but couldn't sleep
for a long time. I watched some tv then tried again. I laid down for
a while, but got up and turned on the light only to find that my bed
was covered with black specks. The sheets were perfectly clean as I
have been washing them daily in borax and had just made the bed before
getting into it. My husband's side had none of these black specks. I
vacuumed them up and got back in bed.
I still feel itchy today, but not quite as bad as before. Anyway,
this is my nightmare in a nutshell (a very big nutshell at that - I
guess we teachers sometimes need help condensing things)

A novel thought louse/scabies like entity has been identified.

This agent may prove resistant against permethrin and ivermectine.

You are advised to follow an intensive protocol for persistent scabies.

Use Eurex cream 5 day's with no shower in-between
Than use permethrin 5% for two day's
Use again Eurex for 5 Day's
Than use Derbac M (Malathion) for two day's
Use again Eurex cream for five day's

You must try to treat all body parts, including the scull and face.

Use extra Malathion lotion for lesions and the finger nails, that have to be kept very short.

There exists a Swedish mix called: TENUTEX, a preparation that would include: disulfiram, DTT, and Benzyl benzoate.

Lindane is a pesticide of another class that can be introduced, next to Eurax.

Experimental treatment would maybe include THIABENDAZOLE, or a classic agent like Eserine (physostigmine)

Try the Eurax (crotamitone) based protocol, because it is rather safe, cheap and probably very effective when combined with intermediate pulses of Malathion and/or Permethrin 5%.

For exclusive information about this type novel thought therapy resistant agent;

try herbal treatments. bathe in a warm bath with 1 cup epsom salt & 1 c. borax. use tea tree essential oil topically, it is strong but it will kill them. look for an anti-fungal/ anti-viral herbal salve. Boost your immune system with herbs such as echinacea and garlic, so your body can fight them. try greatcape.com for remedies.
