I have been having the worst migraines for like a month now and I want to go to to the doctor. Percocet has gotten me out of pain before for a foot injury. Do they prescribe perks for migraines? or will i just be sent home with motrin? anyone know?

you wont get any narcotics out of your doctor for migraines but i do recommend talking to him about a med called pamalor otherwise known as nortriptoline 75 mg capsules once a day if you are havening consistent migraines
best of luck

i have found a combinatiom of maxalt ane zebutal (esgic plus) a good combination for migraine/head pain .... the maxalt for migrabes the zebs for tension headahce (although i found thatn they work for migraines as well)! just be sure to have phenagran on hand for naseau since i tend to get sick to my stomch from migraines. no repultal md will w rite percs for migraines as they are highly addictive. sometinmes if the er will shoot you up with demerol if the pain is bad enough. just BE CAREFUL asking for anytype of oxy (percs, oxcycontin, roxycontin) for migraines as it may get you flagged for an addict! good luck with the headaches

I have been getting migraines since I have been 19, I am now 33. Just yesterday I went to the doctor because the meds I were taking were no longer working (one of them was vicodin for pain). My doctor changed my medication and switched me from vicodin to percocet. So yes, they will prescribe narcotics for migraines.

I have tried many different meds for migraines and the doctor currently has me on replax and percocet 10mg/325 for migraines which seems to work most of the time I am going back to the doctor and am going to request dilaudid for the worst attacks and possibly roxicodone for b.t. pain because the headaches are unbearable at times and request hospital visits. At the ER they always give me dilaudid through the i.v. which always helps.

I have tried more than 20 different medications/combinations from my doc and neurologist. I have been enduring near-daily migraines for the past 5 years and it seems the only thing that helps is Lortabs- and even then sometimes that doesn't help. Most doctors won't prescribe narcotics for migraines, it depends on the doc. My doctor suffers from migraines as well, so she understands the pain we go through.

Can you give me a bit of guidance. I am new to Salt Lake and am a long time Migraine sufferer. My old doctor had me on Oramorph daily which took my migraine frequency from weekly to once a month. Out here in Salt Lake no Dr I have found will even talk to me about helping me with my migraines. I have a vascular heart issue that prohibits me from taking the vasal constricting meds i.e. Imitrex, Maxalt, Topomax etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just started having Migranes about a month ago, and was prescribed vicodin, and it helps but after only a month of use I have been cut down to Celebrex. It cost 10-15 times more and does nothing to help. I need a doctor that will help me, and not make me feel like a drug addict. I am scared to outright tell the doctor give me my meds back because he said I took to much. I took 45 over a 15 day period. that is 3 per day. I even lived with the pain inbetween to prevent this. Do you have any advice for me?
