paxil and delayed ejaculation

Hi,
I have been on Paxil for a few years but moved up to 30 mg about 4 or 5 months ago. Since then, it's been much much harder to ejaculate. I know that switching meds can sometimes help this problem, but I've had so much success with Paxil. Has anyone heard of another remedy? The only thing I've found to help is marijuana, and even with that it can still be difficult.

I feel your pain. I just started dating a girl and have to explain to her why, after an hour of sex, I still can't ejaculate. I just stop taking my Paxil 2 days before I know we're going to have sex. I have some withdrawal but it's worth it.

I know what you mean, I'm 24 and have been on Paxil for almost 8 years now and have pretty much forgotten what an orgasm feels like, and everything else having to do with sexual function within that time frame. I haven't had an erection in 6 years and ejaculation has been impossible. I am on 40 mg of Paxil and I too have enjoyed tremendous success with it. Its an amazing drug. However the sexual issue is the bummer of it and there is little to be done albeit the occasional break or taking lots of Gingko which works for a few people. Best thing to do is deal with it. I'd rather have zero sexual function over the depression and anxiety anyway. Be grateful for the benefits.

My Dr just prescribed wellbutrin 100mg and said that has been shown to fix the ejaculatory disfunction associated with paxil

I actually enjoy the delayed ejaculation. My partner likes me to ejaculate inside of her, as do many women, but she also likes the long sessions of intercourse during which she reaches orgasm multiple times. The drug has given me an interesting new sex life. I had no issues with pre-mature ejaculation before taking the drug, and all of this is quite interesting -- and fun. I find that after two or three sessions I am able to ejaculate, and these ejaculations are VERY productive and powerful - the best I ever had (I am in my 40s, so that's saying something). I know that if I want normal function to return, all I need to do is stop the pills for a few days. My advice is, well, that ejaculation can be overrated. The sexual feeling and stimulation is, for me, about the same as before, so I get to enjoy a longer ride, so to speak, even if I never reach the destination. Now, I just put the whole "I want to come" thing out of my head, and just have fun. Perhaps others who are troubled by delayed ejaculation might want to try that approach.
