roxycodone vs oxycontin

okay, i have been taking pain killers on a regular basis since about 2000 +/-.

this started out with lortabs and percocets, going through morphene, phentanyl, methadone, roxycodone, etc... just a note, but of all the things i've taken, i liked the methadone best. lasted longer, felt decent and almost no withdrawls...

i went to a new doc last month and to start he gave me 30 mg oxycodone [sustituted for roxycodone] 4x a day, 30 mg time released morphine caps 2x a day and diclofenac 75mg 2x a day.

so, what is the difference between roxy and oxy? my friends [the ones who are always so interested in my meds...] say that i might get lucky and get oxycontin 40's as i am a pretty good-sized guy.

so, any opinions? all are appreciated.

Roxicodone and Oxycodone are the same thing except roxicodone is a brand name and oxycodone is a generic name. Roxane Laboratories makes brand name roxicodone and it is a little bit more expensive compared to the generic 30mg oxycodone. If you were to switch to oxycontin this might help you a little better because of course oxycontin is extended release and your 30mg oxycodone is immediate release so instead of taking 30mg 4x a day you can take 40mg oxycontin twice a day with maybe a breakthrough medication, it all depends on what works for you the best. hi i have been taking oxycodone 15 and 30mg for 2 years now due to 4 herniated disks in my back. the 30mg oxycodone i had was made by the generic company Mallinckrodt. i also had 15mg made by the same company.. i noticed with the 15mg made by Mallinckrodt i would often get a very bad migrane everytime i had taken one of those tablets only with the 15mg made by Mallinckrodt the 30mg i had no problem.. most of the time the 15mg oxycodone i get is made by amide or made by ethex and those are the only 2 generic 15mg oxycodone that made my back feel much better..has anyone ever felt a diffrence between 2 diffrent generic oxycodone tab's? i know they are all supposed to be the same thing but i deffinitly felt a diffrence between Mallinckrodt generic brand name and the other two generic's ethex and amide.. 1 more question what does the name brand roxycodone 15mg tabs look like?

Brand Name roxicodone has an imprint of 54710 and is a green round pill made by Xanodyne Pharmaceuticals

15 mg Roxycodones look like this - they are tiny, mint green in color, round with A/214 on one side and Nothing on the other.........this is what the GENERIC verision of the 15mg Roxi's look like , just FYI

I am looking for the less expensive source of Oxycodone HCL Tab 30 MG. I have no medical or Rx insurance. Does anyone know if any Rx manufacture company and/or anyone else ,have a program to assist low income people that require this medication?

I've had lower back problems since late 1979 and have taken enough hydrocodone to fill up a garbage can. In 2002 I had surgery on L-5, S1 because the disk had ruptured. For about 2 years I didn't have to take even an asperin for pain but then it all started again. MRI's show the disk is buldging again and I have all the back and leg pain as before. My Doctor put me on Morphine for pain. My question is will roxy be as effective as the morphine for controling my pain. What are the advantages of changing medications. The morphine worries me. Medications vary as to how helpful they are from patient to patient so the only way to find it out for you is try actually try the roxy out. Morphine is more of a natural pain killer as compared to roxy which is a synthectic pain killer. Another note would be that oxycodone is actually stronger than morphine at least when administered orally, so in saying that the roxy might help you controll your pain better

dawn i know the 15mg say A/214 i have those they are made by the generic called Amide. my Dr upped my dose to the 30mg last week i got the ones made by ethex they are white small round that say eth and the other side says 446. i just wanna see what the name brand 15mg and 30mg looks like if someone can post a pic of them on here please do so i was just always curioue.. or email me [e-mail] has anyone ever ran out or came close to running out before your 1 month supply was over? im always affraid of that happening so my dr gave me a little more this month plus im in alot more pain. does anyone know what u can do though if by any chance u do run out before your allowed to go back to the DR for another script? write back

I have had migranes from the 5mg tablets by Malinck rot to. This has happened many times to me so bad that i could not stand the headaches. I ahve learned that a heavy dose of 800mg- 1000mg of Ibuprofen which i never take relieved the migrane, weird huh?

roxy and oxy are the same drug oxycontin is timed released and roxy is not. another thing also is that methadone has probably the worst withdrawls out of any narcotic even heroin so be careful

Once you get into ocy or roxy your considered a drug addict. And they will give you them meds because basicaly there is no hope for you. I am also one of the hopless sad to say. I was once healthy and energetic. Now I am addicted to roxycodone. I am taking 4x15's perday. I personaly dont get that high that everyone seems to want. I only get mild pain relife from them. But I am still considered a drug addict as are all of you. Most of you try for that high and try to get your dose uped so you can get high again ..this is sad since you do not need the high for pain relife so think before you pop them extra tabs, and never drink on them.

I have been doing the same for 6 years. I definitley feel a difference between 15s band the blue 30s. I like the 15s much better!! I get the Doctor to percrib me double the 15s cause it works much better. The 15s say A 214 and the 30s A 215 with a line. Well that's my opionion. Stick with taking 2 15s never got a headache I have bad pain and it helps.

Hello Everyone! I happen to pull up this forum as i was searching for facts about drugs. And wanted to share with you all about my experience with Oxycontin and now Roxys. Like the other gentlemen said," You are considered a drug addict now and forever! The docs dont tell you that before they get you addicted! You dont want to run out of your prescription... it would not be a good day for you:( I have been living with this addiction for years and it has taken over my life:( So please just think before you get carried away in the high of your pills.. Thank You for letting me share!

Where do you get off on calling everybody a drug addict? I take oxycodone 15mg x 6 a day for physical pain. Not because I'm looking to get high. Your're considered an addict when you can't see yourself living without being able to get high-not seeking pain relief. Get your facts straight before you start calling people drug addicts.

how many times a day should you take them for modorate pain
