I take one 20mg oxy for pain at night, during the day I take vicodi 7.5. I ran out of the oxy 3 days ago and my primary care doc is out of town to next friday, I thought I would be going through some type of withdrawels but so far none. It has been over 48 hrs now and I am in some pain butnot experiencing anything in the way of withdrawals. should I still expect to have some? Iam still taking the vicodin

hey bishop, i recently had my methadone prescription filled here in lakeland and was surprised that they even had it. From what I've read only a few pharmacies even carry methadone. My only guess is now that methadone is being prescribed as a long acting pain medication similar to oxycontin, it's becoming more popular in the pharmacies.

To all That are taking oxycontin to get high,
if you snort it or take it anyway other than swalowing it. then you have a problem
this is why the gov. wants to remove this product from the market
i have been disabled for 5 years now with severe pain** everyday.
i only take what the doctor prescrbes.
its says dont crush this pill for a reason.
i take 90 mg per day and i am still in pain but deal with it as i dont ever want to take more.
this medicine works if not abused
i was on ms contin for 6 months
45 mg 4 X day. but asked to be changed as it was too much medicine
soo for the people that dont abuse oxcontin yes it works.
and if your going to abuse it and snort it and what not
expect that one day you wont have to worry about being in pain because you wont be on this earth
i pray that the ones that are doing this please get help
you are hurting yourself your loved ones
and the people that truely need this medicine for sever pain( that dont abuse it)

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about the oval 40 mg. Oxycontin. I heard these oval Oxy's are designed not to get you high if you crush and snort them...if someone knows anything about this I'd sure appreciate some input

cdallas those you mention most likely are the teva generic model of the drug. one problem we have on the force is that people always found a way to get around something to get high. there is a way to abuse those just like the the others wether you heat them chemically or just microwave them it takes away some of the problem. the other thing that is a problem with these is they may not think they are getting high but they are it just takes longer to hit you and that results in health and respiratory problems. honestly some of you guys need to listen to kydrby4ever his insights are great and knowledge wise hes up there with a doctor when it comes to knowledge. but be careful in everything you guys and girls do.

Hey, i have been taking percocet and vicodin for a couple years, it started out for pain, but they are hard to stop taking when you dont need them anymore. Anyway, the Subs work great, but if that isn't possible, then the best thing you can do is to wean (sp) yourself off. Like, if you take 50 mg a day, day 1 take 45, day 2 take 45 or 40. eat them when you feel like you're going though it but not to feel "good" off them. and just keep reducing your dosage til you can stop. I personally have been off of them for a week or so at a time and, with this method, been fine. you go through a day or so of feeling tired, unmotivated and achy, but then your ok, but you have to take it 1 day at a time. there is no cold turkey with this kind of thing. hope this helps

To all wondering about the suboxone therapy! First off, it has probably saved my life! And yes in my opinion it is definitely a wonder drug! I was addicted to opiates for about 10 years, then got on and off methadone for about 5 years. I would get off & then back on again. And believe me coming off of methadone even at an extremely slow rate is not fun at all! This seemed like a never ending losing battle. I just kept relapsing,I didn't know what to do! Then I found out about suboxone!It can be used as a short term detox or long term maintenance like methadone! And as for methadone I don't recomend it to my worst enemy! It's just another high only legal!And the detox is WAY, WAY harder to detox off of than heroin, or oxy's, morphine, or dilaudid! They are even using suboxone to detox people off of methadone know in some states! And the great thing about suboxone you can keep it a little more private, not like a methadone clinic that you have to go to everyday, you can get it suboxone prescribed by a Dr.The only down side is if you do not have insurance it can be VERY COSTLY! I believe its something like a little over $300.00 for 60-8mg pills a month, but if your junkin your spending that much a month anyway probably! And I must say IT IS WORTH THE $ if you are wanting a clean lifestyle! Hope I helped someone!Just remember take it one day, one step, one thought at a time!

I am looking for a good painkiller that won't kill me. AS I have said before I am on oxycontin and percocet for breakthough, and I am totally dependant and addicted to both.
I want to get off however I have yet to find an effective painkiller that is not a narcotic with the extreme likelihood of addiction/depedance.
By the way, this is a question, and if anyone has been lucky enough to have found something please reply and let me know
