how long do i have to wait till i can take suboxone?

i have been taking about 10 80mg oxycontin a day for a few months i have 50 8m suboxone how long do i let myself withdraw till i can take my first suboxone? thanks

Joe wait till you start dry heaving and then try to wait a little longer. I was taking 12-15 a day and I waited till I was dry heaving and when I took it I start to feel even worse because the antagonist in the suboxone took over all the receptors in me that still had a little Oxycodone on them. I still had to take like three 8mg suboxone at a time for a couple of days. I suggest consult your doc. good luck

ive been through rehab at a detox hospital they made me wait atleast 12 hours i was hoping i did not have to wait that long. i got the sub from a doc . thanks for the info gilbert

I usually wait at least 48 hrs till i am in TOTAL W/D until I take 1st dose of subs.

I found taking them b4 causes the W/D's to actually be ALOT worse.

but try snorting the orange subs b/c the naxalone is rendered useless when ensulfalated(snorted) for some reason according to the product info insert

snorting isn't going to do anything either way...Its best to be in pretty W/D before taking subs trust me they work best that way Good luck

Yeah, you want to wait as long as you can especially if you are addicted to oxcys. The oxcys being extended release, could have a lingering affect if you take subs too soon and w/d's COULD get worse before they get better. When I called for my sub appt. the nurse told me to tapper first to reduce the amount in my system, and then to not take anything for at least 18-24 hours. But as long as you are in pretty heavy w/d's, you should be fine. My doc gave me subutex first because of the fact suboxone has nalaxone in it. Smooth sailing from oxcys to subs for me. Well, the w/d's pretty much sucked but they just do. No way around that.

NO, don't try SNORTING subs. They are meant to the most useful sublingualy. Crazy people do all kinds of shit.

Two Questions : Why would you tell someone to snort Suboxone ? I will agree with Dog Fart on this : The 2 nd question : You say that you usally wait : Are you going back and forth with meds ? If you are on Suboxone you should stay on it. I hope that is the case

There are all types on this site. I don't criticize too much anymore... I pick my battles. Slimpunkass is probably just here to score or piss someone off and I don't have the time for that chit. Well no WD , as another on the site says do not take when I need, take when I want : There is a Big issue : I have the same prob, on a very very low dose of 1 mil of sub , not taking it 1 day is a big steep. Today I took 1 mil for the 1st time today and felt a buzz, time to go lower, I did not feel a wd need put took anyway...Now I need to be strong enough to take every other day.... As you may know that is in my plan to get to every other day to every 3rd day on & On to I can go a week... I think the 1/2 life in this stuff/ Subs can be much much longer then most other Drugs... I'm basically an idiot and I know it, but here's my dumbass question (which no one prolly knows the answer to cause know one's been as pathetic as me)- After FINALLY making it thru the induction period, I decided to celebrate by snorting an 80 about 6 hours after the suboxone took over my receptors. Of course, the effects of the oxy were minimal at best, but now here I am 16 hours after taking that oxy, worried about taking any more suboxone (I've felt what's it feels like to take subs prematurely- HELL). Any advice? Since the subs has set in, and the oxy wasn't effective, am I okay?? Or do I have to wait another 24??...God I hope not. I do NOT want to be going back and forth with this shit.

some of my other posts may help you. start off with quaters in as little as 6 hours. then another quater in a couple of hours. small doses work just as good. i go back and forth whith no ill effects.

Just keep plugging away with the Subs. If you have Subutex, use that instead. If you are using Suboxone, the Naloxone could be a problem.

I wouldnt think that you have anything to worry about. If you got nothing off the oxcy, then the subs were working (filling your receptors) By the time the sub wears off, I am pretty sure that the oxcy will be out of your system anyway. Suboxone has a much longer life than oxcy does.
