I have been on Oxycontin for almost 4 months now, before that percocet, then the hydrocodones. I have really bad constipation I take dulcolax and that stuff is rough on the stomach. any advice would be appreciated. It is scary when you have to make yourself go and its like releasing pool balls!

A prescription anti-constipation liquid called: Lactulose (or enulose is the generic) is fabulous for constipation! I couple of teaspoons of this, and a few senecot and you can become quite regular....

Also a diet high in fiber helps. I have been taking 160 mg a day for 2 yrs. and deal with the constipation. I have tried everything. I participate in clinical research studies testing new meds to help opioid induced constipation. Some company is going to hit paydirt when they get it right. The pain killer suppresses your muscles and nerves that cause bowel movements.(you dont feel like you gotta crap)but sometimes you can sit and try and massage up and down the muscles on each side of your spine about the top of your butt crack (about 6 inches up and down) this helps stimulate a bm.

Miralax is like a bomb going off in my stomach but it doesn't make it out. I am also lactose intolerant so tell me more about this lactulose, does it contain lactose?

Maybe we need to design a toilet seat that stimulates our butt muscles.

Maybe electic shock, kind of like...shocks the shit out of you..:) I've heard that before..lol

Prune juice and dried fruits, plums, peaches..ect. They will work. Drink an 8 oz glass of prune juice three times a day. Eat the dried fruits a couple times a day, about four pieces each time. This works.
