I take prescription oxycodone tabs for chronic back pain. My last refill was filled with Oxycodone tabs made by Mallinkroft (sp?). It seems to me that they are much less potent than the brand I was using before. Anyone else have an opinion on this? Which generic brand of oxycodone tabs are considered to be the best, milligram for milligram?
(Talking about oxycodone here, not oxycontin.)

there all bot the same, amide used to be great but they are now activis so like the others the quality droppped, as the med goes up in popularity the quality goes down, especially when regulations allow for a 20% error ratio, they must be 80% of compatibility to be approved, find it hard to believe theyd give any more than reqd... if there not working, ask your dr to equal it out w/ msir(morphine sulfate immediate release) they work very well and not big in the market so quality is good... a few gens are abusable (snortable) but work well orally, problem w/ the other the drs are gettn there $ in kick backs and it causes to much greed by the makers so quality/we suffer...

everyone, no, 55-60% on some level, yes.... its obvious, the detox ctr and meth/sub use, makes that stat very clear.... as for "snorting" not all snorters are abusers... I know alot that do exactly there dose, but grew up in a cocaine enviroment and prefer to use there meds that way, there the same ones that would snort there coffee, lick the sugar and take a gulp of creamer after... but I would consider an abuser someone who whined monthly to his "trusting" dr how his medication doesnt work, and it was upped monthly, started out gettn relief on an 80oxy every 12hrs, but is up to 5)80s 2x a day and B/T meds as well... just cause he makes it last the month doesnt mean its not abuse... its worse to me than the guy who has a dr that doesnt "trust" and short changes the patient, so the patient is suffering on 40s 2x a day and has hydrocodone for B/T so he is wiping it out in two weeks to suppress the pain, and looked down on cuz he has to search whereever to get enough.... who is the abuser in this case!!! just cause its a months worth and written by dr dont mean it aint abuse...

I've been wondering the same thing. IMO, the Mallinkroft is crap (stomach pain & not strong enough), and now I only go to pharmacies that do not offer it. I have been on Amide, which seems to be the best out of all the oxycodone generics.(but not the greatest) Last week, I filled my usual 15mg and didn't notice the brand. I've been exhausted (more than usual) and very tired (sleeping all the time). I just realized it may be the oxy's. I looked and I have a bottle of "Activis." A new brand. I don't doctor shop, I see my pain management doctor once a month and something I started doing on my own last year, I give him a journal of all the meds I take. It's a problem when the generics are not that good, because then I suffer with stomach problems and/or having to take more. So now, this Activis has me sleeping all the time. That's not a quality of life either. You tell the physicians or the pharmacists that there is a difference with the brands and they deny it. It's ridiculous this merry go round of generics and their producing products that just barely slip by the regulations. So to answer your questions, YES, I do feel there is a difference, but can we prove it. NO. By the way, I stick to ONE pharmacy, who know me, so there is no problem with "the attitude" when filling all my pain meds.

Actually I've found that the ones by mallinckrodt are better for me. I got some mfd by watson last time and they did not help me at all. You can request the pharmacist special order for you. I got mine special ordered from Osco last time and they were in the next day.

I filled my script for 15 mg Oxycodone. I did not check nor d\id pharmacist show me them. I got home and this morning when I went to take them, they were white not green or light green. I have not found this exact one in any desription from Mallckroft, Amiide/Activis which on the laabel INDICATES Amide. They are white with an M boxed on one side and the other has underlined 15 on upper half. Are these in fact 15 mg Oxycodone?
Cocernned and worried they could be something else.!!!!

trying to find the best generic 30 mg roxicodone. This month i asked my pharmacist for mallinckrodt because thats who makes my 10/325s and i have no probs with them, but they gave me these activis things and ive been nodding like a novice and its got my fiancee and me worried. I've been in pain mgmt for 13 years now, and have taken it all, i may see if hell switch me to the msir30 mgs cause ive had good results with those, my biggest prob is my doc is a methadone pusher and that shit scares me so i only take it when i run out early cuz he only gives me 120 30's and 120 10/325's for "breakthru" and refuses to increase anything but the methadrone. I also take xanax and have to be careful esp if taking methadone, thats lethal. Do u think my doc would give me the morphine and still give me the roxy10/325's along with it? if thats the case, I'm making a switch. I kinda need the 10/325's for the reason they are decent for breakthru theyre mallinckrodt and they work well, and thought i was trying their 30's this month, but was lied to (big surprise) by habib my pharmacist. So tell me good or bad 30 mg mallinckrodt stories and recomment what generics r best for the msirs any advice is greatly appreciated. I always end up running out of my roxies early and having to fill my methadones and take them for like the last 10 days so i dont get dopesick. if he would only give me what i wanted and listen to me that i am afraid of methadone after watching (not literally) several friends die from it and xanax just this year, all he does is increase it. Once i can afford a new doc im ditching this nutcase. Also, are the generic msir expensive?
Thanks for all your time.
ps- i have injected roxies, and snorted them, because they dont always work, and when youre in chronic pain youll find yourself willing to try things u never dreamed of to stop the pain, thaty DOES NOT MAKE YOU A JUNKIE OR A "HIGH SEEKER". I RESENT THAT COMMENT A FEW UP, written by someone who has no idea what pain really is. A true pain sufferer will go to great lengths to escape from their daily agony. I condone noone for their actions and miss my old doc who lost her license b/c she forgot to renew it. You could just be honest with her and tell her what you were gonna and not gonna take and shed write you what you wanted. Thats a good doc/pt relationship. Also this doc i have (im 57 and weigh 138) weighs me every month and if i dont lose 2 pounds a month, he takes away 5 of my roxies. Being sick is enough pressure, thank you. I'm in the Tampa area so if anyone can recommend a good doc, please help out. Thanks everyone.
