has anyone tried the new,supposedly UNCRUSHABLE OXYCONTIN,

Catspaw u can (you pretty much have to eat that last little bit when it gets too small to grind) but I tried just eating half and I really thought I felt less than when snorting it. I have a joint disease and I can tell pretty quick when something is helping and when it isnt. It seems to me that when you can actually manage to powder it, the effects are pretty much the same as the old ones. Nose spray (with oxymetazoline) is a must, otherwise it will stick in your nasal cavity for hours. I also use the same nostril everytime so even if it gets pretty stopped up I can still breathe ;)

OK...so you are saying do not wet or remove the coating and use ped egg. I was so frustrated by some of these posts because it's like the people posting them don't do them. When I finally got it crushed into powder it wasn't fine and it clog my nose two hours later when I blew it, there was the medicine, not to mention I had the jelly like feeling after I snorted

I have tried that and i does NOT work. it leaves a jelly like material in your nostril. I get them prescribed and have been doing them this way for years, it not only helps with pain but it's also my anti depressant. I will find a pharmacy here that has the old one's Wednesday when I go, but I will not be getting rid of any, lol

Ive been doing them for years too and desperately want to make it work. I did hear that Purdue asked all pharmacies to return any that they had of the old stock, basically, a recall. I cant verify that so dont know how true it is. I get mine Thursday so Im hoping it wasnt true and that my pharm will have some old left. I have never taken one orally-not a whole one anyways. Ive always snorted them. DONT blow your nose! It is hard to get it to drain but it will eventually you just have to make some really strange noises and hawk it back pretty hard. Trust me you CAN make it work. Yeah it does gel up but that doesnt make snorting impossible, just harder. If you want to look on the bright side, I did notice that I seemed to be getting it gradually instead of a huge drain 5 mins later, so I felt better for longer. Nolagrl-if you're not already getting roxies (hopefully u are, it provides some measure of comfort knowing that THOSE aren't changing) maybe u can ask your doc to give u some of them. thanks for the info sweetie, but i cannot snort,my nose just would not handle it, that sucks that you cannot chew it, cause i only took a half of an oxy, when i had them. i have not had an oxy since april . love cat

Does anybody here remember that disgusting flavored water they made about 15 or so years ago that had those gross little gel balls floating in it? It was called Orbits or something. That's what the new oxy reminds me of when I chew it. All this new crap is getting really worrisome. So if pharms are only getting 600 pills of roxis every month and most peopla get at least 100 in a script, that means about 6 people or less are gonna get their script filled a month? What the hell? Maybe I'll just switch to heroin-I hear it's pretty good pain relief and a whole lot cheaper....Anybody have any GOOD news (or at least something not so scary) about the oxy/roxi situation? Somebody throw me a bone here.

no sweetie, you do not want to go down that road, it would be a terrible waste. of your life. i am sure the roxi shortage will get better, try to look on the bright side dear, hell be first in line of one of the six,at your local pharmacy, so you can make sure you get your roxi's. love cat

Thanks for the encouragement. Just a thought, I wouldn't really. One habit is bad enuf! It's just really depressing to live in constant pain without the added stress of worrying about your meds each month. I recently lost my job, and of course, insurance, due to my health issues. So now I have to worry every month about how Im gonna pay for meds, and now everybody has to worry about whether their pharm is even gonna have the stuff! I really dont mean to sound whiny; its just comforting to talk to a community of people who have similar issues to discuss. So thanks everybody!

oh hey weather in florida, or in oregon, we all worry about our meds. they have even been short up here too, a few times, and as for ins. well mine stopped paying for my oxycontin back in april, so i am just stuck with my roxi's, but they are the same, the oxy's are just more concentrated i guess in the 60's and 80's. i bet they will start making roxi 40's and 60's pretty soon, because of the florida clinics and all the shortage, so hey honey, you are not alone , and there is always someone here that will, talk about your pain or theirs,us cpp's tend to stick together. you have a great night sweetie, and think positive. love cat

My guess is artificial stomach. U wana match ph of 1. Lemon juice is the closest with 2.2. White vinegar is next with 2.4. Let soak 12 hours and then drink. You might need the stomach enzyme pepsinogen, but prob not. And maybe since its weaker then stomach might need more time. Maybe even temp is an issue. So many variables. Good luck everyone.
