I am speaking in regards to FLORIDA, as I believe this post is....
Sorry, I don't agree. Pain Clinics VX Pain Management Center/Dr's .
Big difference !! The pain clinics are ruining it, yet AGAIN for the truly ill people that need opiod treatment and go to the
Pain Mgmt. Dr. facilities.
The DEA are already harassing my Doctor and Pharmacist ..
threatening them with Roxicodone and other pain medications,
future dire shortages and to drastically cut back and/or stop
prescribing these. In one month my Doctor has cut my medication
in 1/2 or the usual dosage ( I HAVE BEEN ON THESE FOR YEARS ) due to the fear factor instilled in them by the DEA. Due to what they have done already, they have left their mark with extreme damage already ... as there is a major drug shortage AGAIN ( same as about one year ago ) and now the medication(s) cost(s) have doubled and it goes on and on and on.
A new law, going into effect in October 2010 will affect the Pain Clinics .. which is where they need to concentrate ... "the clinics" and not harrassing the Doctors and their validity as Professional, above board Doctors that they are in their private practices !
Here are some updated articles for you, check them out:
I have so much to say I could go on for days... the bottom line is;
the addicts and dealers ...along with the crooked Doctors, are and have ruined it for the patients who are very ill and NEED ( not want ) these medications and can not have access, even through their doctors, due to all of this. PLEASE ... people... comment here, I'd like more opinions ... Mind you, i provide fact, with Url's above and my experience just today speaking with my Doctor and Pharmacist... so please .. I'd love to know how other's are fairing during this most difficult time that will soon be absolute hell... THANKS TO THE DEA !
I totally agree with Elinor. I live in Pa. and I live in chronic intractable pain due to 2 failed spinal fusions.
(it's labeled "failed back surgery syndrome").
The DEA has screwed legitimate pain patients and making life even harder.
I would certainly appreciate it also that people don't post on these types of topics when they are totally "clueless" and don't know the facts and don't do the research. These people just blurt out anything.
I can't believe there are so many people out here who are still so ignorant. It's not until something happens to them and they are in pain almost 24/7, only then do they "see the light". I am so tired of the "stigma" the ignorant put on us.
OH well, the ignorant will always be around.
But for those in my condition and unable to get "adequately medicated" know what that is like too.
Anyway, it's just frustrating to know there is too much ignorance regarding "dependence vs. addiction".
Hopefully this will change soon, soon as the Senate Commitee takes this issue on in the fall. Can't wait, hopefully some of the rules will change and the physicians who treat us will have to abide by the American Pain Foundation's Bill of Rights.
At this point, it is a direct obstruction of the ADA, "Americans with Disabilites Act".
Anyway, my two cents worth. Hope I didn't repeat myself too much. I have been up all night with pain and it is now 6:25 AM,
