as a result of spinalcord injury(C2--C7)i have used Percocet 10/325 for years; usually 4-41/2 daily; I have recently discovered Ultram, 2- 50mg. tabs combined with one 500mg. Tylenol works great for me!...using that dosage three times daily....appetite back, more energetic, more upbeat; no withdrawal symptoms at all when switching; hope this might work for all of you having problems with the opiates. On a bad day, can still go back to a Percocet or two but thats all I need for that day...perhaps my opiate receptors have emptied out a bit altho Ultram is said to be addictive, yet is NOT an opiate Hope this helps someone!

who="ADVICE FOR DRUG USERS"]PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTORS ARE THE VERY WORST PEOPLE IN THE WORLD TO GO SEE FOR CHRONIC PAIN, BELIEVE ME WHEN I LIVED IN FORT LAUDERDALE/HOLLYWOOD FLORIDA FOR 15 YEARS I WORKED FOR THEM, THEY ARE NOTHING AT ALL BUT LEGAL DRUG DEALERS, IF YOU WALK INTO A PAIN MANAGEMENT CLINIC WITH A NEGATIVE MRI (EVERYONE HAS A NEGATIVE MRI BECAUSE NOBODY, AND I MEAN NOBODY HAS THE PERFECT SPINE, WEAR AND TEAR AND USE THROUGH THE YEARS CAUSES STRESS ON EVERY SINGLE PERSON'S BACK AND SO WITH YOUR MRI AND ABOUT $250 TO $500 FOR YOUR FIRST VISIT (NO IT'S CASH ONLY, NO INSURANCE, LESS FOR ANYONE TO TRACK THESE IDIOTS) THEN YOUR SET, THEY USUALLY ASK YOU WHAT HELPS, AND UP TO ABOUT 6 SCRIPTS THEY WILL WRITE IN A DAY, I HAD A FRIEND WHO DIED 3 YEARS AGO THIS MEMEORIAL DAY, HE WAS SEEING A PAIN MANAGEMENT DOCTOR IN FORT LAUDERDALE FLORIDA AND THAT DOC WROTE HIM 80MG OXYCONTINS UP TO 3 A DAY SO 90 PILLS EVERY 3 WEEKS, XANAX BARS 2X A DAY, LORCETS 10/650 5 TIMES A DAY, DILADID 4MG 4X A DAY, OXY IR'S 5 TIMES A DAY AND SOMA'S 350'S 4 TIMES A DAY ON TOP OF RESTORIL, HALCION OR AMBIEN FOR SLEEP, 1 PILL A NIGHT. That my friend, is BS. The DEA carefully monitors the prescribing and dispensing of ALL controlled substances. Controlled substances are required by law to be filed along with proof of a physical examination, and direct patient contact. Not only this, but a doctor must be able to extensively explain WHY the prescribed controlled substance was the doctor's choice over another non-controlled alternative. Now, it's true that there are corrupt doctors out there, but I highly doubt a doctor would prescribe all that. If he did, he would have his medical license suspended, and then revoked after a hearing. Please don't lie to people.

Oh btw as to my above post, a pharmacy would also not dispense all of that at the same time. They are also required by law to report and refuse any suspicious prescriptions, and more than 2-3 narcotic/controlled substances filled at the same time will result in refusal and a submitted report to the DEA, which will take the aforementioned actions. :) idiot.

They wrrite several scripts but, ones a t/r med, the other a b/t med then something for sleep assistance, and a blood pressure med if its affected... 3-4 scripts a month is the norm

Your mood swings are just the tip of the iceburg. Get out while you or if you can get rehab and or a support group to get off NOW> GOOD LUCK> <quoted text> theres not a thing wrong w/ pain meds if not abused, and upping doses by choice, regardless of the pain is abuse... it causes tolerance to go up as well as shortages monthly(locate/buy on street) which also creates w/d periods while out... for pain as prescribed its a miracle worker, not everyone abuses, runs out and pays out the ying yang... its tempting at 1st but it doesnt take long to realize your body adjusts to the high then its maintenence and getting back to "normal" takes alot... if ya keep it in check, do the drug and dont let the drug do you, alls well... 1st sign of abuse is pill counting, will I have enough, I cant go here cuz I wont have enough for that many days!!! it should never be an issue, there prescribed for a month at a time... Ive never seen a diabetic in that situation, he gets enough for a month at a time, doesnt have an issue counting bottles!!! no different... keep it in check!!!
