Oxycontin vs, Percocet

Does anybody know? How much percocet is equivalant to one 40mg. oxyocontin?

percs are normally around 5mgs or 7.5mgs.. a 40 mg oc has 40 mgs of oxycodone, so do the math,, roughly 6-8 percs are equal to a 40mgs oc.. there are other mgs for percs though, 5 and 7.5 are just the most common, around here at least..

I need some true searious informtaion on this drug Oxycotin, please. I am new to this drug for Cronic Pain and have been experiencing aggress behaviour, verbal outbursts and emotional ups and downs. One minute im lovey dovey the next im a deamon. Can you please tell me if this is a common side effect, or anything you can tell me about it would be greatly appreciated as it is makin g a major impact in my life and I need to regain contorl but also remain pain free as long as possible. Please I am desperate for answeres.

Really any narcotic such as Oxycontin can cause a person's everyday stress to become more extreme, this has been proven from using vicodin to percocet. I am prescribed Oxycontin and sometimes notice a slight decline in controlling my stress/emotions but that's just it as long as I aknowledge it is there then I can work on making it better.

oxy is also a mood affective, in high amounts in particuler, if i do 500mg to 600mg i pay attention to my gf....

I got shot about 11 months ago and I am down to 2 OC 20s a day and 3 percocet 10/325. So 4 of my percocet is = to a OC 40. It is written on the pills. First # is oxycodone second is tylenol

oh yea be careful with tylenol it's bad for your liver, I think around 2000 mg

Yes, Tylenol ( acetominophen) used to have a USE limit of 4,000 mg a day ( 24 hour) but my Doc told me thay have lowered the amount to 2,000 for "safe" long term use. Medically at 4,000 mg your liver transforms the Tylenol to a poison since it cant handle it above that dose,( lay terms) so you are actually doing damage to the lver by going ovr 4,000 mg a 24 hour cycle. and looks like the Medical standard to lower it will stand firm. we got meds and aceto. in other meds, so this helps prevent over dosing the liver lng term.

PS I too noticed I seem my hyper/aggressive with oxy plain- I did not know this coould be a side effect? is it really? I tossed the scrip info the meds came with, so not sure if that is an effect.

the tests are done in (panels) depending on the tests given, the more expensive tests, urine and/or hair follical will just show it as an opoid, vicoden,methadone,oxy or heroine...and a host of others... all show the same way...

so i guess it would test as the same as hydracodone? i have random drug tests but i have a script of lortab, the test says it screens for marajuana,cocain,methamph,barb ituates,and i think opiats. so i should be ok ya think???

I had snaped my neck in half back in 2002. I have been takeing 5 OC 80's(that's 400mg)a day. I am finaly pain free and doing better thanks to my pain managment DR.

if theres a script in your name, its ok, they will tell you that you tested pos for an opiate, and ask if you are on medication, and explain from there, theyll check / confirm, all well...

I am wondering, my wife is hooked bad to the Oxcontin 40mg, she says she aint but if i take them away or hide them she goes off side but anyways, does it block affection recepticals, she has lost interest in anything affectionate, she works on them comes home and doesn't bother with much else, please help alittle.

ohhhh yeah, the high replaces all thats desired.... put her on subutex, see a dr and save her/your relationship... if she doesnt have a health issue that demands them get her off them... the subs will remove any/all symptoms of w/d so theres no issues.. or excuses... all is fine she will not miss anything but the habits created , like a smoker misses holding a cig, and the timing of smoking it... no w/d at all... and as far as a health issue(pain) it sedates it some, but it will show you how bad the pain issue is... no meds expose all...good luck, even if she needs meds, you get her free for 30 days and she can take something mild again, 10-20 mg a day ...and at that point get the same energy she gets from oxy...cause its new to the system again

i have arthritis in my spine. i have a lot of pain, have trouble sleeping, doing everyday tasks etc, it has grown worse in the past two years. i have lortab 7.5. the condition has been verified through tests. my dr acknowledges the severity of my condition but refuses to give me anything stronger. i am in constant pain any advise
