john wrote: everyone should start with Subutex, instead of suboxone. Subutex is prescribed the first couple of days when coming of opiates. Subutex does not have neltraxone which creates the withdrawl. Take subotex 12 hours from last use of opiates. No withdrawls. After 3 to 5 days then you switch to suboxone. I still perfer to continue subutex. More info at wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buprenorphine . I agree with that. My doc started me on subutex as well. Thats exactly what he told me as to why he did it that way. Since I was on oxcy, it reduces the risk of precipitated w/d's should I still have had oxcy prominent in my system. What do you find the benefits to be in staying on subutex versus suboxone?

shelly wrote: <quoted text>Thank you. It was by far the hardest thing I have ever done and took more willpower than I knew I even had. I took opiates for a bit over two years. Not at the rate I was when I started as I was when I quit. It was the poorest decision I have ever made and at times I still get disappointed in myself for letting it happen. I consider myself to be way smarter than this but I just have to stop beating myself up about it. I had alot of self loathing and self pitty and one day I just decided that enough is enough. I looked up places to go in the phone book at first. I ripped out the pages and carried them around for a long time. Then a friend of mine who had a friend blah,blah,blah.. Went to get on suboxone. He had a really bad drug problem, worse than anything I ever thought of doing. He was clean for alomost two weeks when I decided to go. I figured if HE could do it, then there was hope for me in what did feel like a hopeless situation. Maybe thats where you daddy was at. You know the point of feeling that he had no choice? I was there myself and I can tell you one thing that its not hard to feel like you have no choice. Its a very hard thing. I hope you come to terms with the fact that you had nothng to do with it. It must be very hard dealing with his death I am sure but he is in a better place and situation now and the suffering is over for him. I will pray for him because evertime I hear something like this I get very emotional and think back that it could have very well been me sooner or later. I get very reflective about my life alot lately. Please be well and know that there are lots of us here that do genuinly care. Keep your spirits up and God Bless you and your family. You will be okay. I for one am so glad that you got the help when you did, we dont need to lose another one to that feeling of hopelessness. You are a truely special person, I have come to realize that ppl do care. Coming to this forum has helped me more than my therapy. Im glad that I found it. Please take care of your self also.

Hi My girlfriend who has a chronic back pain has been taking percs and oxy and is on a fentanyl patch. She has now gone to the streets for the percs and oxy and is taking about 200mg of oxy at min. She has created a dependency to the meds and trying to find out where in Ontario or Canada you can get prescribed suboxone. I know it was just been approved here in Canada. I want her to use this rather than her pain meds and not have to go through a methadone program which I hear is horrible. Is there somewhere that you can find doctors in Ontario that prescibe suboxone and help you get off the oxy and use it as a replacement.

Just google subutex and go to there web site and they will have you put in your zip and then give you a list of doctors. I wouldn't take it more that 10-14 days or she will get addicted to it. Thats not what the doctor will tell you though he will want her on it a long time to make his money. Good luck.

Snorting 30mg before work 40 after and so on. I really fucked and to quit right now would cause withdrawls and i cannot afford to lose my job i have a very good job. I read about suboxone and im wondering how hard is it to get sub's. I just dont want to go into the doctor and get denied that'd dissapoint me alot. I'm also in Canada. I'd like to hear some peoples personal stories about suboxone, it would help me out alot. Thanks I have been taking OC for about 5 years started out doing 80 mg/day for back pain, prescribed by my doctor...i was then cut off because i needed an mto medical to get my AZ licence . so i started buying them off the streets ...i was buying aprox 160 mg per day at 62 cents/mg so it cost me 100 bucks per day....i tried quitting cold turkey and ended up in the emergency room.....I was sooo sick i was praying for death.....the dr gave me suboxone 10mg for a week 1 per day.....i havnt thought about oxy the whole week....now im out of suboxone and my family Dr hasnt heard of it ...so he will not script me any....so here i am buying OC off the streets again....anyways from my experience....if u r serious about cleaning up...suboxone is definatly the way too go...if u can find a dr that will prescribe it good luck Donald hope u can beat it!!

donald wrote: no its friday right now im planning on going to a walk in clinic tommorow just to get the right direction from a doctor. I'm pretty sure ill have to go to a pain management doctor who can prescribe suboxone I did find out that suboxone was approved in canada in nov of 2007 so thats why it was harder to get before and hopefully its not now. This is the only thing i can see helping me so i really hope i can get it. If not il lbe crushed Suboxen is great. It can be bought pretty easy. You take one of those you will feel so much better mentally and physically and you will not be chasing the high all the time.

he flat out told me I was too much trouble so he's gonna give me my money back.. this was 3 days after i sent him money. he was mad because I questioned some of the inconsistencies about our deal and another post. he wouldn't respond via PM, and eventually i gave up and told him to keep the money, obviously he needs it more than me.
