I have been on oxycontin for about 8 mounths or so now. Let me tell you detox'ing off this crap is horrible, i wake up in the mourning with goosebumps, watery eyes, hot/cold sweats, entire body ache its terrible. I have quit a few times using suboxone but evey time i stop taking suboxone i start using oxy's again. I am currently 24 hours clean of oxys , i have taken 20mg of methadone today and i still dont feel well. I will tell you the first day of quiting is the worst, at least for me. The first day is the day you make that choice to try and get clean rather then running around to cop some oxy's, to me this is the hardest part. Also, with suboxone you are supposed to wait 24 hours since your last use, and that isnt easy, but once you get there and start taking it its 100% worth it. This is my first time trying methadone and im just hoping it works, i may even just wait it out and start on suboxone tomarow night im not sure. I just want to be clean, im such a screw up and i know this. The only advice i can give you all is when you want to quit, you need to stay away from any friends that do it, no exceptions, god is also a great person to look to for help, Along with your family, i know personally i love my family more than anything, and i hardly ever see any of them anymore because of my addiction. I wish you all the best in beating this thing, i am home alone in my appartment rite now, hoping to god i wake up in the mourning. I am 22 years old, i cam from a good family, this addiction can get anyone. Again i wish you all the best and my prayer's will be with you all. Any helpfull comments or advice for me would be awesome.

Hello! I need someone to help me understand oc's. My best friend and his girlfriend are on them pretty bad. He's never talked to me about his problem but his girlfriend has. I've heard from everyone else around me how bad he needs it. For the 1st time yesterday she told me he needs it everyday to be okay or he gets sick. So I know he does alot. How do I help him? I feel like I should know more about it before I talk to him. We're only in our early 20's and he has so much ahead of him. He doesn't need to ruin his life. Please someone anyone respond to this and help me to help my friend.
Thank you!

Well, I can't take it anymore. I just sent for some lorcet. Xanax dosn't help. Sleeping pills only work for a few minutes. I think that half a lorcet will solve my problem.

Pain pills play mind games w/ you. If you don't have them you will think and dream about them. What you are on is not as bad as many. It takes a few weeks to get back to your old self. Don't know if thats a good thing but good luck.

I was able to find a miracle for Oxycontin withdrawals. If you haven't heard of it it's called: Kratom http://www.erowid.org/plants/kratom/kratom.sh... It is a legal herbal supplement, and tastes horrible - but you will feel 95% better afterwards. It takes the chills away, the uneasy hopeless feeling. It brings the symptoms to a level that is manageable. It does not taste yummy, so i grind it up in a coffee grinder and put it in capsules. If you are looking for something to help get you over the nightmare, really think about trying this.

I have been disabled for 13 years. Chronic pain. I have been on oxycotin since '95.
In 2005 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I thought I had already walked in one door of hell and out the other. Chemo and radiation were nothing compared to the enforced cold turkey approach because of physician "contracts".
Today I have been discharged by not one, but two Doctors. Truly a crossing in the mail, however, I am the one going through it because of misunderstandings.
Can anyone offer any real advice as to how to survive this. I am in the throes of withdrawal with no Doctor. To boot, due to discharge loal E-room was notified not to treat me with oxycotin.
The sweats and shakes and constant wretching are my worse. When reading past postings, I can't imagine going through this for any real period of time.
I do agree, they are actually one of the worse scourges for chronic pain patients. The pharmaceutical compaines have made millions on the pain of others, and now suffering people are denied help because they broke the drug "contract".
Anyone out there with homeopathic or any other methods to help with the nausea in particular would be blessed forever.
Somebody, pleae help.

living through hell, you might try getting into a detox center. They can give you meds to help with the withdrawl symptoms. Pot is great for nausea and some of the other symtoms, if you can get some. the worst of it will be over in 24 to 48 hours. God bless you! I will be praying for you.

This is day four of my cold turkey. And there is not a doubt about it, it sucks. I am not an addict but a cronic pain sufferer who after neck surgery couldn't handled the reside due pain and function. And you all know the story, the pain relief only lasts so long and then up goes the dose. Now I don't have drug coverage and the stuff is criminally priced!! So after 5 years, I just had enough and quit. I am presently residing in hell but I will keep you posted. My problem is starting to be, what about the pain? It hasn't gone away!! Help?
