Does anyone know of any pharmacies in Palm Beach County that have 15 or 30mg Oxycodone in stock? I used to go to a mom and pop every month to get my prescription filled but since I was told by my doctor there was a shortage starting all over again last month I decided to call ahead this month. They said they might have them in but probably won't. They used to get daily shipments but they're back-ordered, just like every other pharmacy I've called. I got lucky last month as they were still getting their daily shipments in but it doesn't look like it this month. I use insurance so I'm not going to pay the doctor hundreds of dollars to fill the prescription; I'd rather switch the medication first. However if there is a pharmacy that has them in stock I'd obviously much rather stick with a medication that works. Thanks.

You just have to drive from pharm to pharmn like I did. It took 15 pharmacies and 25 miles to get mine filled....good luck.

Thanks, that's what it came down to for me as well. The PM Clinic didn't even have pills to sell, not that I'd buy them (with the shortage they've marked everything up so it would cost me over $600 just for one of my scripts). Anyway I tried about 10 pharmacies, maybe a few less, and called a bunch (maybe 6-7) that I know will release info over the phone.
I decided that since I work in an area that has a high concentration of clinics (close to Broward) I would try my luck north of where I live since I live further north where there aren't many, if any, pain clinics. First place I tried didn't have any which annoyed me because I passed my exit on the Highway during rush hour to try them. I tried another chain after that since it was 2 lights down the road and they do have it in stock.
Unfortunately they had to call the doctor, which makes sense. But most PM Clinics close between 5-6 and I got there probably right at 6. The clinic I go to is supposed to be open later today but they weren't answering their phone. I was worried they would run out so I asked if they could hold it, which they couldn't. However I figure anyone else filling tonight would have to have the doctor called (and the pharmacist assured me there wouldn't be a problem, although it is first come first serve) and I will call the pharmacy pretty much a minute after the doctor opens so that they fill mine first.
Anyway, what a pain in the ass. I hope the shortage ends soon.

I'll let you know after I pick my prescription up tomorrow morning at 9am. Like I said, they can't hold the medication for me, and even though the doctor was supposed to be open late today they weren't picking their phone up so no one was around to verify. I figure that anyone else who goes in tonight, while it is still open, will be unable to fill anyway because they will need to call to verify any controlled prescription unless it is a customer they know really, really well (which is impossible with CPPs as we go to whatever pharmacy has the meds, although I was able to use a mom and pop for the last 3-4 months until even they couldn't get their daily shipments anymore).
So I'm planning on getting to the Pharmacy at 9am, when the Dr's office opens to ask them to call before anyone else comes in. They said they made a note to call and that it would not be a problem filling most likely, but I want to be safe just because it was so difficult to find a pharmacy. I've already called my boss, who is obviously well aware that I'm a CPP as I have to come in late once a month since I have my appointment at 9am every month as I have a very high stress job and need to be there as often as possible (Strategy at an Ad Agency). He's alright with me coming in a bit late tomorrow as well because he's very cool and to quote "Do what you need to do, I understand."
So anyway leave your email or just post here again tomorrow around 10AM or sometime later in the day (I'll check the thread when I get home, and once or twice at work) and I'll give you the info. I don't want to leave it in the thread though because I don't want this place becoming swamped.

Also how much are you filling, out of curiosity? I'm not sure how many they have although they alluded to having a lot. I'm definitely taking quite a bit, although I don't have a 210 or 240 prescription like some people since I don't need it.
My doctor also wrote me 60 10/325 Percocets this month as well (in addition to all my normal medications) since he know, due to the shortage, that it would be near impossible to fill anything else the day of. And he won't write anything extended release due to the overdoses associated with XR medication, and he won't write morphine, oxymorphone, or hydromorphone as he believes those should only be used in a hospital. I can understand the OD thing but the latter makes no sense to me because there's a shortage so even if it was a one time thing he has the authority to write it. The place I go to for my scripts though is pretty legit though so I guess they're trying to comply with as many rules as possible to remain pen. Still, it's one step below completely legitimate as they don't take insurance (I wish I could find a compassionate doctor that did).

I got them. There's even a story to that since they didn't call my doctor right away as they had promised but as long as it worked out I am happy. Still, if this shortage keeps getting worse I'm going to just ditch the compassionate doctors at clinics and go to an office that takes insurance. I can survive on percocets although I'll be in a lot more pain. They might prescribe morphine or fentanyl patches though. Clinics generally stick to Roxis.

I never got your email address, but I would be glad to send you the information. Also, I would love to find a doctor's office that takes insurance (and of course isn't disgusting). I go to one now that is actually pretty nice, but still more of a business than a doctor's office. They don't take out of state patients which helps them maintain a better clientele and also keeps it from becoming as crowded as an airport gate. Still, they won't prescribe me anything aside from Oxycodone and any insurance taking pain management physician I've been to won't prescribe me anything stronger than Vicodin. They'll throw 150-180 Vicodin at me a month while the APAP destroys my liver and the hydrocodone does nothing to help my pain.

I am in the same problem if you could help me, I am disabled and can't afford to spend 800 on my scripts. I use this prescription drug card that saves me a lot and chains take it np, but mom and pop want to stop taking it. cause they wanna charge 4 a pill it's sick. I got a script of 50 15's i need to fill and on Friday next week my 80 30mg. if u could help me out it would really be appreciated as I drove for 4 hours one Saturday to 25 Walgreen'a and no one had it. Anyone idea when this shortage is supposed to be over??. Also anyone know cheap insurance that's real insurance that I can use for prescriptions that no one can turn down?

I also have trouble finding a pharmacy that has oxycodone in stock. I take 180 15 mcg per month, and have had to wait 3 days sometimes to find a store that can fill. What is the problem. Since when does the FDA have the right to interfere with the medical profetion for which they have no knowledge of how the system should work. Only one store had my script on stock and they no longer use the discount card I use, since I don't qualify for medicade, medicare, etc., so they charge a whole lot more. Luckily my Doctor uses insurance and my walk in fee, since I am a cash paying customer is only 70 dollars. When will this madness end?

I can't find a pharm that accepts insurance for my perscription of Roxicodone 30mg. Is there anyway you can email me the pharmacy you went to? It's day 5 now of having my persctiption, i'm in so much pain and can't just find one pharmacy that accepts insurance period! I would really appriciate it, thanks so much! my email is melbournetattoo@gmail.com =]

I went to the doctor last week and I'm having the same problem getting them filled. Someone told me that pharmacies won't tell you if they have them out of fear of getting robbed. Which pharmacies in Palm Beach should I concentrate on to get my script filled?

I live in Broward County, I cannot find them anywhere. Any place that does have them charges an arm and a leg and won't let you use insurance. If anyone in the Broward area knows where I can get them filled please let me know. Even the hospital pharmacies said it will be months till they get them back in stock. PLEASE HELP
