WORRIED FOR ALL IN NJ

To Opanaphile: You are ok because you have a papertrail of what happened, the pharmacy definitely has back up if it was filled a few days later.
To Everyone Else: STOP NOWWWW!!!!!!!!!! For warning, my husband did several of all the above examples and was followed in NJ for it as well as PA...once caught they contacted insurane, doctors, pharmacies, you name it...now he is severing 6 years in state prison for fraud of scripts that were never written as well as insurance fraud. It may seem sweet and dandy now but it will catch up to you, some doctors even know and continue because they know your under investgiation and want to see how much they can get you on, once founded everything counts. Even if the doctors dont want to press charges the state can. If you havnt already just stop and stick with one doc one pharmacy....and things will be fine, I had the same troubles pass and learned from his mistakes and turned it around, I know you all can too!!! Good Luck...and just know your not alone and these doctors I feel should pay somewhat too, because this addiction happens very wuickly weither people are faking or are truely in pain and then we have no where to turn but to the illegal aspects and then we have to pay, they should be charged right along with us......Again GOODLUCK TO ALL!!!!!

Joe Ray wrote: I did a stupid thing. got a rx from the doctor. Just a benign drug. It was done on a computer (copyed all the fonts to a tee.) and had his dea # on it. I wrote myself 5 scripts for oxycodone. 30-60 at a wack. used my own name and went to a different pharmacy everytime. All this in a months time. I have no health insurance. How long before I get busted? hi joe im not sure how long it will take to track that kind of activity, but i can tell you that fake prescriptions in the very near future will be a thing of the past. no longer will fake prescriptions work at any pharmacy EVER.

However, crossing state lines or going to different pharmacies may create the air of impropriety.

I currently get prescribed percoset by two different doctors. Every month each doctor gives me 120 of them. I use 2 different insurances & i use 2 different last names. 1 is in my maiden name& the other in my married name. Can i be red flagged by the pdmp doing it this way? if i payed cash & didn't use either of the insurances would that lessen my chances of getting caught? Some1 please answer cause i can not afford any drama - i have a small child

Some1 please answer cause i can not afford any drama - i have a small child just because you have two different insurances and you use your maiden name and married last name makes no difference and the days of paying cash is not discrete anymore ... what you are doing is no different than someone using their real name and a fake name and license to obtain the same narcotic prescription from two different doctors without the doctors knowing that the two of them are writing you the same prescriptions ... both of your names are in the PDMP and obviously you are using separate addresses for the names so as of right it looks like two different people ... your pretty much in the clear and unless somehow someone was really looking into you and what you are doing they could figure it out ... legally what you are doing is against the law and is "doctor shopping" but are you going to get caught no one can really answer but in my opinion all good things come to end eventually

I'm in central New Jersey and I see my doctor every 29 days and fill it on the 29th day. the pharmacist said that legally they can fill a controlled 2 narcotic prescription on day 28 (3 days early) up to the pharmacist whether they want to or not. I pay cash since I don't have a job that gives me affordable health insurance and it seems like that's a glitch or problem with your insurance because that's not right at all your waiting 2 extra days for your medication

I have a condition called eds (ehlers danlos syndrome T2) whis means have incredibly weak ligemends and my joints become dislocated far to easily. There is nothing that can be done besides pain management. But apparently ive been red flagged for what reason idk. I've used the same pharmacy for nearly 4 years now. Im in agonizing pain constantly. But NO doctor will help me with the pain most people with this disorder and on 200mgs of morphine a day. Will this “Red Flag"ever come off my med record or am I doomed to i life of agony. Im so lost right now literally watching myself fall apart abit more everyday. What can i do.. I can't take this much longer. Please help

I can't take this much longer. Please help if I wee you I would contact the doctor who told you this and find out the reasoning why. if he doesn't have answer call the pharmacy and ask them why. if the neither have an answer contact the DEA office and explain your situation and find out why you have been red flagged ... do you see more than one doctor for pain medication? bc if so that's your answer why you have been flagged. I know you can try and fight it but have you ever filled pain medication from your family doctor or a dentist or for a surgery not from your primary doctor? if you have this serious condition and need the meds to function normally I would get to the bottom of this immediately and figure out exactly what needs to be done. you never know someone could have stolen your identity find out you get prescribed pain meds and go as you. it is certainly a possibility and people will do crazy things to he this medication for other reasons than needing it legitimately and medically. also who told you that you were flagged? the doctor or pharmacy? if it was just the doctor maybe he just didn't want to prescribe you the medication anymore and that was the only way he could stop you so quickly. I feel your doctor should have helped and worked with you on this if you didn't do anything wrong and wasn't seeing more than one doctor. there can be a lot of reasons of why this could happen and is a pain in the ass. this could also potentially not allow to ever get pain meds ever again!! good luck and let me know the answers to emu questions to better help you

NJ Finest wrote: . I guess what happens is that the pharmacy has to send all of the prescriptions (dont know if its daily, weekly, monthly?) to the DEA specifically DEA offices in NJ who track everyone and anyone who fills a RX for that month. However patients names will pop up if they have filled more than one of the same or similar narcotics and/or if they are filling RXs from two or more Drs. The Dr's are then notified, police for the town which the Dr is in starts an investigation to start building a case, however it is (what he told me) up to the Dr on whether or not to investigate. This all seems pretty reasonable to me and makes sense to me because I am pretty sure my Dr doesnt call around checking into everyone of his patients and I am pretty sure his one and only receptionist isnt doing that ether. My biggest concern is this "red flag" and I dont know how this could be a problem, but I told my Dr that sometimes I have to go to a different pharmacy, because recently the one I have been going to hasn't had them in stock. He looked at me with a stunned look and said "Well you need to just stick with just one pharmacy and that since I have been going to three different pharmacies that there is a good chance I am already "red flagged" by the DEA". I completely understand that I should just stick with one pharmacy and I usually do but for the past 3-4 months I had to go to two different pharmacy's. I asked how could that be possible I never fill early, I have never seen a different Dr for the medication, I simply go to one of the same three pharmacy's depending who has it in stock and the generic brand that I like to take. He told me that according to the DEA it would look like to them that I am trying to hide something (which is not the case what so ever) I have been filling the same RX for the past year now and nothing else. I found this very very hard to believe and I don't know if my Dr really knows what the hell he is talking about when it comes to being "red flagged" for simply going to different pharmacy because one is out of stock or doesnt have the generic I like... but it is worrying me because I am 25 years old and I need the medication for the timing being before I can afford my surgery. So if anyone has heard of this happening to someone, or happened to them being "red flagged" for using different pharmacies would be very helpful. I thought you would get "red flagged" for Dr shopping, fraudulent scripts, false identity, stuff like that. Hello I am also 25 years old and i was in a horrific car accident 3 years ago which straight ruined my life i had a great job as a welder but i hurt my c3 c4 c5 and L,3,4,5 BULGED HERNIATED I suffer from constant pain..any way now i take 30mg oxycodone and i got my prescription on weds the 11th i went to my usual pharmacy but he said they were out till next week witch i thought was odd. Every pharmacy(2 walgreens and a medshop) i went to sayed their out of stock then walgreens told me i have to bring in all my MRI's or OP report witch was weird but i did it still have not gotten them filled. also my DR. told me detectives where their asking questions because when i first filled my prescription my surgeon wrote it mind you this was about 1 years ago that i accidentally went to 2 different doctors but i honestly did that on accident and i never go early or go to different doctors theres no hand book to tell you what to do and what not to do, it is medicine. Ive been on this med for a while now and not having it can hurt me what do i do who do i call this is ridicules and not fair to the people who really need this stuff
