I have been taking Mirapex since Aug of 06 I believe its the lowest doseage. Can it make you restless legs? even though that is what I am taking it for. Can it cause it to get worse??

I took Requip last Jan, Feb, and some Of Mar and my RLS seemed to get worse. Maybe the different meds react differently with each individual. I am hoping Mirapex can help me, have you tried Requip?

Geez, it has been a while since I took the med, but as I recall, the relief was pretty rapid- within a week or so, if I remember correctly. But of course, the drug hijacked my brain, and I honestly cannot say that with certainty. If you choose to remain on this drug (assuming you get relief) PLEASE be alert to the devastating behavioral side effects. Tell your family to be watching, too. You may be feeling SO good and energetic that you don't think that the "new" behaviors are anything to worry about. Oh.....that reminds me- Mirapex won't help with SLEEP- as a matter of fact, many of us felt little need to sleep normally. But the drug did quiet our legs down when we were at rest.

I have been taking Mirapex for about 8 years or so.
If I didn't have it I would never sleep! I also wouldn't be able to watch tv, go out to dinner, sit in a theater, fly on a plane or drive.
It is a wonder drug for me. I have no side affects. I am now 53 yrs. young and have had RLS since I was 26yrs. old. It would be wonderful if there was a generic form to save money I will be on this the rest of my life. I only wish my mother was still alive to reep the benefits for this pill. She lived miserably with RLS.

I have also been taking Mirapex for 7-8 years for severe RLS. I would not to be able to do anything without it. I have tried everything under the sun including Methadone (which landed me in the ER I got so sick). I hope to see a generic someday, getting more expensive every time I reorder.
