My 71 year old Father was told by his primary care physician to take Lovastatin, 40 mg to boot. He has Congestive Heart Failure. His Heart Failure has been managed by taking Qunindine, Digitek, Atenonol & Coenzyme Q10 (200 mg) per day since 1996. He was active, strong & living a great life. No retaining of fluids, shortness of breath. Once he starting taking Lovastatin. He started falling asleep sitting up, his head had to be propped up at night, no energy, no appettite, bowel movements were like urinating out of his rectum (since his heart wasn't working properly neither were his other organs like the kidneys), shortness of breath, retaining fluids. After about 45 days he came to visit my Family for Christmas I witnessed all of these symptoms then finally he told me he started to see blood in his urine. I asked him if he was taking anything that I didn't know about. He said yes, Lovastatin. That day I took it away from him and threw it away. The blood in the urine stopped after a day. My Father has since been in & out of the Emergency room. I believe the Lovastatin has caused irreversable damage & my Father has alot less time on this earth because of it. He has lost about 35 lbs, has no energy, weak, tired all the time, shortness of breath. It's awful. I have since done alot of research on Lovastatin, it's side effects. I have read about the clinical trials ( of which have not included Heart Failure patients). Their has been a petition filed from an M.D. about that the drug companies need to put a warning on all statin drugs to take supplements of Coenzyme Q10. Because not only do these statin drugs inhibit the production of Cholestrol in the liver it also inhibits the production of Coenzyme Q10 in the liver and depletes the Coenzyme Q10 that is stored in your organs. Coenzyme Q10 is essential for a healthy heart and is produced naturally in your body. There are studies that have been done on Heart Failure patients and one thing that they have in common is low levels of Coenzyme Q10. This drug is next on the list for a class action lawsuit. I will be one of them, because my Dad will never be the same. Please do your research before you or someone you love starts taking any kind of statin drug. This is a Billion dollar business for the drug companies and I predict there will be a Heart Failure epidemic.

I just wanted to give everyone an update. Hopefully this will be a warning NOT to let anyone you know take statin drugs. My Father went from Stage 1 of Congestive Heart Failure to Stage 4 and passed away March 23, 2007. I can thank Lovastatin for this. This is a Billion dollar business for the drug companies, making over $13 billion a year. The most successful drug in history. Most people that have heart attacks & strokes have normal levels of Cholesterol. I have lost my Father for no reason other than he is a casualty for taking a statin drug. Please heed my warning! Don't let someone you love become a casualty! Do your research.

Rhonda, you have my sincerest sympathy for the loss of your father. I hate lovastatin! I believe that any doctor who prescribes statin drugs without giving a realistic picture of the side effects is engaging in malpractice. I am living with someone who has aged tremendously in two months due to taking lovastatin with other drug interactions. No doctor is willing to admit this happened. They always find something else to blame. They can never scientifically explain how these drug victims seem to change overnight, coincidentally after adding a statin drug.
If you are still interested in this topic, visit the website of Dr. Gravelin, spacedoc.net . You will read about hundreds of other statin victims there.
If you do know of any lovastatin class action lawsuits, we would be very intersted.

Hope this finds you well.

Pam...WILL NEVER TAKE A STATIN DRUG NO MATTER WHAT.

PS To hany, visit the above webpage for the answre to your question...HINT: you are not looking for a DRUG.

Ronda, just to let you know that Digitek has a class action also going on right now too. You might want to look into. I am sorry for your loss. My father had severe heart disease and I lost him at my young age of 30 and I am 54 now. I miss him very much. My father would not take anything in pill form or otherwise to help his condition. He died at age 55, one year after he retired. Blessing to you all.

My doctor put me on this cholestrol drug 20 mg and
my eyes are blurry only when I get tired. Also my feet are burning and tingeling. Is there anybody with the same problem? Is this from Lovestatin? I am not diatbetic. I am afraid to take this drug.

My father 53 years old and has been giving lovestatin at 80mg a day for 3 months now.The last two months i have watched my dad fall apart. He cant hardly even walk and is in pain all the time. His hands, feet, and groin are tingling and burning. His stomach is swollen up and has lost control of his muscles. We believe this is all coming from lovestatin. I think it should be taken off the market if it will damage someone this bad. If anyone else is having this trouble please let me know.

Daily Horoscope for December 20

Scorpio

There are problems concerning money today, especially if someone thinks they aren't getting their fair share of it. Mars turns retrograde in your house of public matters, so issues from the pat will need to be dealt with in weeks to come. Sort things out quickly, before they become even more fraught.
