Last year I took Toprol XL and eventually stopped because it just made me exhausted, but that was the main side effect.
I now have cancer, and when I did chemo I developed a rash on the back of my hands. After the chemo stopped, the rash subsided. Fair enough. I have surgery in about 2 weeks, and in order to get my B/P down more, I was prescribed metoprolol (I think it's 50mg twice a day). Within three or so days my chemo rash came roaring back, and spreading, and with swelling. I assume it was the metoprolol, because nothing else had really changed in terms of either medication or my environment. I wasn't as worried about the rash, but an allergic reaction that causes swelling can be literally dangerous, so we stopped the metoprolol, and I'm ingesting Benadryl and Claritin to try to clear it. I've only been stopped about 36 hours, so I think I'm within the half-life of the metoprolol still. What I'm not sure is why I didn't react to the Toprol XL like this, although that was before the chemo, so maybe the chemo is why this is behaving differently. |

I can recommend a reputable Internet pharmacy http://allbestpills.info
I figured it would be enough to give the pills a try and I was quite satisfied with the result. I hope this info will be of any help to the community. I was prescribed Metoprolol (Lopressor) 25mg a day about 2 1/12 years ago during a routine visit when I had a blood pressure of 150/90. Since that time my BP has stayed around 115-125/60 something/low 70s. My resting heart rate varies from high 40s to low 60s/min. I also started swimming laps which is off and on again. The medicine seems to work well for me without any noticeable side effects at all. Both my mom and dad had high blood pressure. I'm now in my mid fifties so I guess it's my turn now. |
