Storm- have you had an EKG? Crushing chest pain no matter how transient warrents eval. I used to be hyperthyroid and get palps- Betablocker..metoprolol, atenolol helps. But chest pain can be related to either ischemia- lack of o2 to the heart r/t blocked arteries or vasospasm in which case you may need a calcium channel blocker and nitrate. Always chest pain could be GI but never assume. If you had it checked and the pain was benign and this pain is similar to previous episodes that's a good sign. Be careful and make sure you know the cause and tx.

Hi L ,
Thanks for the suggestions...They gave me a 24hr halter monitor and and ekg .....last oct .... that was 2 1/2 weeks after I halved my dose of 45mg/day (because the brady runs were bad from the drone .. 35beats per min )...."Naturally" I had no abnormalities show up for their look see just a few Bigeminy runs...and the note says pt. has frequent ventricular premature depolarizations(don't know what that is could they be painful?)....no dr called to review the test with me ....I had suspected bradys and Long QT syndrome ...(again from the methadone along with or related to the hypothyroid)....My cardiac symptoms slowed as I tapered as well as the hypothyroidism ...I thought (hoped ) I was in the clear ...BUT the last 2 weeks I've been getting tight chest (last night being the worst ...

The b*tch of it all is that I am bed and housebound ...going "out" to get help is near impossible ...WILL NOT GO TO ER unless I'm in a 911 situation ...hospitals make me sicker (multiple chemical sensitivities FM/CFS)....
If you have any impressions on the above ,please send them my way ...Lord I wish drs still made housecalls!

Ok guys ...sorry to rant ...just having a "sick and tired of being sick and tired " kinda week...This too shall pass!

I think my body was used to having Ibuprofen thin my blood and I've had to stop them for the stomach , that along with dehydration made my heart labour (couldn't even make spit but felt no thirst...weird eh?)....At least that's the theory that I'm operating under...So water water water ..and vitamin with minerals to keep topped up ...

Thank's Quitting , I appreciate your insider insights...as well as you ear :)

Oh yes...the tight chest ALWAYS comes in the evenings ....like the thyroid symptoms but none of them with it ...related still?

Thanks very much...EVERYONE ELSE...Don't let this scare you ...I have many pre-existing conditions that have really made getting off the methadone challenging ...BUT , IT IS STILL DOABLE AND WORTH IT ...I PROMISE ! If I can say this "in the middle of my mess" you can see how valuable getting free is to me ...

Cheers. L....Cheers..All!
.....STORM ...day 47 and still happy to be free !

Hey Eric, no not marinol. I believe it is JDH. It is the initials of the doctor who made it. It is fresh off the presses. I will ask my friend again. He is a chemist and is all excited about it. Last time I talked to him it was still legal. Here is a problem with it as far as I can see. You take the pill and the effects last like ten hours. I guess if people smoke it (which cant be good for the ol' lungs) it only lasts a few. People all over are trying to get their hands on it to beat tests. The doctor was not interested in the money and put out the recipe for all those with chemical know-how.

Again, this is totally synthetic, I am scared to poke that fire again. If I learn anymore I will let you know.

Have a good one everybody, I am off to exercise and steam!

Storm,
I looked last night through my history on my computer but could not find it. I will try again. Could of sworn I book marked it, but I learned these last few months I should not swear on anything that I think I did. I was looking mostly under compromised immune systems because I think the same-that the psorasis is my immune system out of whack. It is such a complicated system utilizing all organs of the body and also impacting other delicate systems.
The article I read about it in also talked about hypothyroidism and other aspects of long term opiate use that seem obvious to me now that I have gone through this. What intrigued me the most was the sources at the end of the article. There were many but much were from the 1970's, probably tests done after the start of methadone maintenance. I got a bit indignant because clinics have long denied all the long term physical effects of methadone and here there is all this information just waiting for them to look-see. Pooey on them I guess...
The vivid dreams are a trip. They dont last long and I learned much from them. Some were scary but there was a clarity of meaning to them that seemed supernatural. I had a couple of other intense things in my waking moments that really made me realize we know not the powers all around us. Ascetics of old traumatized themselves into reaching higher states, wonder if the pain of withdrawal and the length of it brings us to that place too. It is a wonder that is for sure and an unexpected clarity. Enjoy. That aspect is gone now for me, but the impression remains.
I will go drink some water too. Hope you feel better Storm.
April
Hi April,
Thank you for your continuing efforts !!!...I will work on the lead of compromised immune systems and methadone...I had already been looking into the hypothyroid caused by methadone but had not seen any links with the two sets of info...
seems like just as good as any line of thought for our bizarre goings on...
On the waking up to sights and feeling of presence ...that would be a run of "waking dreams"...they can be scary when you wake up and still see images with eyes and brain wide awake...They usually only last a few moments and are part of a sleep disorder...yes I've had them too...but during the "frank withdrawal" at the first two weeks off....(I have had them before long ago also so I guess I am prone to them) more C'est la vie and this too shall pass...It REALLY helps to know this intellectually because you can quickly dismiss them .....That being said , I am a Christian who knows there is more to the world than what can normally be seen .... I found that I would wake to these things and also be waking up praying out loud ...and then came the deep peace and easy sleep after.

Take care April and have a great day and sweet sleep!...
affectionately ...STORM

Hey April and Eric,
I have a prescription for a synthetic cannabis in pill form called Cessamet...it contains only "one" of about the 60 different cannabinoids that pot has...It is legal in Canada..and is given instead of weed usually...It does help sleep and appetite and gives a nasty buzz (and yes munchies)...I stopped taking it ..because it would always take 4 hrs to start working and I always got a hangover the next day...
All in all a med with mixed feelings for me ...(at least I have some left if needed ..(but I didn't take any during w/ds)) Wow that's willpower...lol
cheers....STORM

Eric, where does one find the water walking belts? Are they at the gym or do you own your own? My Y has those gravity machines. Pondering those...they and the water walking seem very similar to isometric exercises. I am ready for something and I love being in the water!
thanks
April
Hey April, When Eric first told me about his water walking I assumed he was walking under the water, I even asked him if he weighted himself down, I believe at the time he referred to it as deep water walking...my fog was still lifting at the time!! Enjoy your exercising and hope you are well....pEaCe

<quoted text>Now this bothers me to even admit. I plan on being in a rokkin chair at 90+ and burnin some mother nature, will have very limited drink by then. Now a days I get tested, see a new fill up doc on the 18th. Refill due late July, that gives a window of a month, but the herb do slow down my memory cells. Helps me sleep, helps my appitite, drink is not in the picture when I get with momma nature,so and I ask this a person would ask a white coat,is my trade worth it? I do not wake and bake, I do not burn dubee after dubee. Couple hits and the world is rosy. Man wished I lived in a "NORMAL" state. National Org. to Reform Marijuana Laws!!!!..and what the hell is with the Giants? They only kick butt on the left coast? I was pulling for them to sweep the Mets!!!???
I agree with you re: weed. I have smoked since my teens and I believe it has actually helped me for years to mellow out, limit alcohol and until pain hit hard, avoid narcs. I am type A and. like you, a hit or two, and thats all I need. We're working olegalizing it in California and the prop, written by Tom Amiano, will be on the ballot in November. Right now it is considered medicinal for a select group and I believe it has helped alot of people have better quality lives, particularly those with cancer, HIV, HCV. There is smoe abuse of mj medical clinics with regard to prescription written for healthy people but that is why we want to legalize it and tax it. Means everyone would have to pay a little higher price but think of the revenue for our state... MJ is taxed in Amsterdam (I lived and bartendered there for a year), and the junkies I saw were 99 out of 100 not Dutch but foreign- English, German, American, French. This was > 20 yrs ago. Dutch people are aware of mj but they perceive it as a normal part of society and tourism. They do not tolerate "hard drugs" however, and there was definately a stigma among shop and restaurant owners about junkies...didn't want them around. Last time I visited Amsterdam was two yrs ago and the tourist industry is thriving and quality of life seems good- saw alot healthy young Dutch people and every age of Dutch person riding bicycles, also there is very little obesity.
I have also been involved with NORMAL for thirty years... a few people in my life are criminal lawyers and we all know what happened in the sixties with arrests and five year convictions for pot.
Enough rambling.... I too have to stop soon for work reasons. I never smoke before work and even rarely the night before, but drug testing is all to common and as you know weed is part of the testing. Makes me sad as I really find this drug helpful and a spiritual event, usually when I am in a natural setting.

"L" I use a product named HerbalClean. This not just for weed elimination but also as a great "flush" product. Cleans out the toxins in the liver and kidneys, urinary tract, colon and of course the weed. If you know the day of test, real easy. If not a 16oz bottle in your desk drawer in a brown paper bag,may just save your job. Once you have purchased three bottles, cut the upc code from the bottle send the three with a check for $5.50 and they will send you a bottle. You do not ramble you are an untapped vast well of information, and I for one thank you!!! http://www.herbalclean.com/ I use the 16oz Qcarbo max strenth once evry two months. At my age I figure why not flush the toxins?

Thanks for herbal clean tip. Will get the product. My saving grace in the face of drug testing has been to flush, flush, flush. One time, with two hours notice, I drank a couple gallons of water and pissed about ten times. By the time of the test I even cleared out the methadone which I was prepared to explain. Fortunately, job was not concerned about dilute urine...not my experience at methadone clinics. Once clinic I went to cut me down to daily dosing after doing weekly for having a low creatinine. At the time I did not intentionally dilute my urine and I left that clinic. Now there is no more clinic shit to deal with. Yeah! Day 18. L

good morning to you all I had a pretty good yesterday untill evening things got A little rough but I handeled it very well, but my biggest promblem is the weakness and the lazyness it have come to pass that growing old diminish your desires to do things by design because A lot of things I dont want to do anymore and I also reconize that methadone treatment was A big part of my day,now I am going to have to replace that time with something it has been quite difficult for me to apply myself because of my condition but what every my plight is I intend to carry on MUSIC you have A lot time off the Train will it happen, when willI reach that great plateau,I am going to have to force myself to get involved to continue on with these hostile feeling untill this thing get better, and you can quote me on this I came I posted and I conquer!!!
