Methadone Tapering....Oh MY!

I was dependent on oxycodone for about a year and have been at a mathadone clinic for about 6 months. My stable dose was 85mg, I found that I got really really fu#$in' hyper (just like when i got shitty, but worse). Anyway...I have been tapering at 5mgs weekly for about 12 weeks, I am currently on 15mg. I have a good amount of discomfort when i wake up and I find myself wanting to get some type of high, Whether it be opiates,benzos, Marijuana whatever!...I feel like I'm falling off and I need advice on how to fight the rest of the battle....AND WIN!

i feel you pain, i was on oxy,norcode,percocets when i was on the road working for the last 6 years. I couldn't find oxy I started on percocet, I was eating 10 percocet 10's a day and then I got laid off couldnt find none when I went back home, so I got on meth (ice) finally I looked at my life and went to a methadone clinic it has been almost 6 months and I am drug free no cravings no more, hey pat i know your on a low dose coming off so am I am at 20mg I started taking vitadone its a vitamin and it helps with everything.

If all went well, you're probably already off of the methadone, and if that's the case, congratulations!

If not, I will suggest one thing, re: waking up with discomfort: ASK FOR A SPLIT DOSE!

No one on methadone should really be taking a single daily dose, IMO. A split dose will smooth out your day -- you'll wake up feeling just fine, and you won't be going through a daily cycle of light withdrawal at these lower doses.
