Democratic lawmakers seek to decriminalize and tax pot

U.S. states would be free to decide how to regulate marijuana just like beer and wine without running foul of federal law under legislation being proposed by two Democratic lawmakers.

It makes no sense to lock people up for recreational usage. Since the war on drugs, we have wasted away Trillions trying to curb the appetite for marijuana to no avail.

Just decriminalize it period. The feds need to just drop their ban on marijuana.

It is so wrong to say something is evil and should not be allowed , unless we can tax it that is.

It is real simple, illegal drugs create a black market for them, there are huge profits to be had in a black market environment, people will kill over the drug money. Drugs don't create violence drug money creates violence and corruption.

Have at it pookie. Just make it a criminal felony if you hit or kill someone while under the influence. You can jump off all the bridges you want, however they may get you for pollution.

I sale plenty of alcohol, in my opinion, alcohol is the most problematic mind altering chemical in America. I'm not around dopers often enough to gauge their behaviors closely.

I think you're exaggerating the comparison with Marijuana and alcohol. The typical American pretty much agrees the substance isn't as harmful as a beer, and no worse than a shot of liquor.

In any event, driving under the influence of liquor is a felony if yo should harm someone in your travels, so why can't that be applied to Marijuana, and I think it already is being applied.

It makes no sense to lock people up for possession, and recreational usage of Marijuana.

As I stated, prescribed pain killers kills more people in America than car accidents.
