i have been taking Lexapro fo about 15 months now. i am a 16 year old male and was perscribed it by my doctor for anxiety disorder and bipolar depression.
i feel the drug did an excellent job curing my anxiety and depression, but i still experience mood swings alot. i no longer suffer from thoughtsof suicide and stuff like that, but i am performing horrible in school because of it.

these side effects are major, nothing stated is something the drug ight have caused. everything is a obvious sign of the drug, and i was wondering if someone takign it could help me get passed some of these side effects without stopping the drug.

horrible memory - i forget people's names everday, pretty embarrassing. i have trouble retaining information during class. i forget certain words in the english language often, have trouble describing things.

cannot concentrate - i zone out all the time an cannot think straight.

insomnia - i am tired during school and work all day and can only sleep during the day. i do not sleep at night at all. it is currently 2:53a.m. and i am writing this.

headaches - pretty good headaches if i do not sleep during the day, and if i stop taking the pill i suffer intense symptoms of (forgot the word) when someone stops taking a drug and is addicted to it...headaches, nausea...crap like that.

anyone got any remedies i can try or something to make this easier on me? before my depression and the pill i was a 4.0 student. now i have 4 D's out of my 6 classes. need help..

Danny - I have been on Lexapro since October and since the beginning of November, I have been sick. Headaches that will not go away no matter what I take, confusion, forgetfullness, I can't think straight. Really scary. I'm hoping it's the medication, otherwise I'm scared I have a brain tumor or something. BTW, I'm 30 year old female and I take 10 mg. I have been cutting them in half the past week or so but still dont' feel any better.

I have been on Lexapro for awhile now... it's worked wonders for me... although I still get mood swings and occasional panic attacks... it is not a miracle drug and has helped me quite a bit

i have been on lex 5 MG for over a year. the initial euphoria you get in the first 4-5 months is gone. it maintains my ocd and anxiety pretty good. but I have found that I tend to get moody more often. not anxious. but just not wanting to have anything to do with anybody. also, since the beginning it makes me sleepy. but then again I sleep awesome. i have tried to get off it but that is practically impossible right now.

I've been taking 10 mg of Lexapro for four weeks. The side effects I have are: 1. dry mouth (I am always thirsty, and I'm always drinking water or juice, so much so that I wake up twice in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom ugh!), 2. my dreams are vivid and I love it! Each night, I can't wait to dream.(Been dreaming about tattoos. I don't have any, but I'm thinking about getting one. One dream it felt like the needle was actually piercing my skin. ouch!) 3. appetite increase. It's amazing how much I've been eating lately (within the past week).
No negative side effects so far. The first week or two I noticed the jaw clenching thing, but that's gone. I was yawning a whole lot for the first two weeks.

I was prescribed Lexapro because for the last two months I was feeling sad, getting upset very easy, crying, etc... and my DR prescribed Lexapro.
I took it for four days and the side effects were terrible!!!! I started getting panic attacks!!! terrible feeling. I thought I was getting heart attack!! I never in my life I had experienced these symptoms....DR stated that probably my body is reacting against the medication, I don't know
I wonder if anyone had experience these symptoms

It's been 5 years i'm on Lexapro.
I've been very much better with this medication and last year I decided, by myself (I'm not living in my country anymore my mother sends me the pills), to reduce the amount: I was on 10mg and begun taking it every other day for 6 months; it went great, i dropped it again to 1 pill every 3 days. Several annoying things happenned:
- my concentration is very bad: I cannot stay concentrated on a subject without losing the wire of the thought ( excuse the bad english I'm french and I translate..). It's very complicated to do a logic reasonning. I read something and 2 lines later I forget what I begun reading( the first 2 lines). To write this is actually not easy. I'm studying Civil Engineering and it's baaad. I'm worried because it hasn't been the case before
- when I have a conversation I am often, confused. I begin talking about something and I sometimes cannot finish what I begun to say. Embarrassing.. Add to it the fact that my spoken english is bad, people must think: acute problem..
If someone can help I'd appreciate a lot.
Thanks all and God bless us

I started taking lexapro two weeks ago on a starting dose of 10 mgs, I started getting emotional a few days ago and crying constantly which I've heard is normal although my anxiety has subsided substantially. I am now increasingly sensitive and moody about what people say to me... Does this go away? Or is it a sign I need my dose increased?

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Aries

There is minor evil around today, whether it is harsh words or actions. Relationships with non spiritual people will tend to be abrasive, as you come to understand that such people can never be trusted, for their agenda is not love. Beware of criticism from colleagues or friends. Avoid being narrow minded and confining your views to the conventional. You may want to argue with everyone and everything, but beware of devouring your own energy in the process.
