I have taken inderal la for 4 years for blood pressure and migraine prevention. My blood pressure is stable and migraines are much fewer, my first day on the generic (propranolol caps par) I battled a migraine and my blood pressure was up. I could not sleep and energy level is low...anyone else having problems? Now my insurance will only provide the generic...

I've been taking Interal LA for several years. I took the generic Propranolol from Wyeth for some time, but then they stopped making it and I had to go back to Inderal. Didn't have any problems with the Wyeth generic. Now the generic is made by Par Pharmaceuticals and I've noticed that it does not completely handle all my symptoms for a rapid heartbeat as well as Inderal or the Wyeth generic. I don't think the Par product is as good as Inderal itself, and if it keeps up I'm going back to Inderal.
