Anyone have a good experience with Geodon

After reading some of the comments on this discussion board, it causes me some serious concern as I have just started taking Geodon for an off-label treatment. I don't have bpd or manic-depressive disorder though, after two 20mg doses (last night/this morning), I am very groggy.
Is anyone on here "glad" they took Geodon... I mean, all the comments on this site seem to be negative. Maybe I should quit while I'm ahead.

hi there, iv been on geodone for a wk now and i only have 1 problem, i fall asleep 1 hour after i take it. I only tack it at night so this is not a problem for me. I have read the posting and they scared me. I am going to give the geodon a try. I am also taking ablify 7.5 and lamictal( think thats how you spell it)300mg I think. This may be why im not getting the other problems.

I have been taking geodon for 9 months. I have experienced a few side effects of aggression especially when i first started taking it. I take 20mg in the morn and 20 at dinnertime. Geodon helps my mind to slow down for school work and lectures, but i have found that I isolate myself more than I used to. I am not really interested in parties or clubs. Geodon gives me focus, but it also sedates my once exhuberant personality. Once I am done with school I am done with Geodon--

Again, it really helped my daughter become stable, but there are side effects. They say it doesn't cause weight gain, but it did in my 14 year old daughter. She started getting acne, whereas she had perfect skin before. Also, watch for drug interactions. However, my daughter was suicidal and had to have something to stabilize her. Weigh the risks, as with anything. Good luck.

I take Geodon for bipolar disorder and I think it works great. Risperdal made me more depressed and overweight, but it did stop the delusions. With Geodon I fall asleep easily and wake up refreshed AND solves the manic phase. No weight gain or any other side effects. Perfect.
