i've been taking fosamax for approx 2 years and my hair has been falling out like crazy. I am 53 years old and healthy. I thought the hair loss was from my age you know menopause, but am finding more and more ladies experiencing the same hair loss. I took my last pill yesterday. Bad enough we have to get old but I'll be damned if I'm gonna be old and bald. I work out on a regular basis and only took the fosomax cause my Dr. said it would prevent bone loss. I even lost the hair on my arms and legs. I'm done no more fosomax for me. Just hope my hair comes back.

I have taken 3 doses, 1 per week of fosamax. On the 4th week I noticed that my hair was thinning out especially after showering. This has been going on for 3 weeks now. I stopped the fosamax
after only 3 weeks of usage. Can anyone tell me if the hair loss stops after you stop the medication. How long does it take. Is there anything to counter act the hair loss?

I switched from daily doses to a weekly dose of Fosamax. After 6 weeks of taking the weekly dose, I ended up in the ER for a kidney stone. It has yet to pass so I can't tell anyone here whether it's a calcium-based stone, but I will, in time. It loks like it will have to be surgically removed because it's larger than 5mm. I started taking Fosamax daily (but wasn't taking it correctly most of the time) 8 years ago for osterpenia. I still have osteopenia but I don't know my T-scores from then and now to determine whether this drug is useless or not. I have made decision, as of today, based on the bad comments I've read, to discontinue.

I have been taking Fosamax for a little over 1 yr but stopped it when I felt that my osteoarthris has worsened to the extent that I can hardly walk and have to take Tylonol on a daily basis but still experience the severe pain in my knees and hips. I wish I knew what to take to get this drug out of my system as I understand it remains in the body for approx. 10 years.
Has anyone else experienced the pain that I am going thru.

Took actenol for one month then fosomax for 3 months...threw them away when my hair started falling out, my hands distorted, and I developed indentures in my teeth. I still have the small indentures in my teeth and am experiencing sharp pains in my ears.

Tried fosamax for 2 1/2 weeks. Had imediate vaginal discharg in a large amount. Had to wear pad. Could feel it running out. Then I had blood spoting. Stoped takeing. Talked to my Dr. and he said it was impossible for fosamax to cause this.
After stoping fosamax my problems are gone.

I have taken Fosomax for some 2 years, My doctors tell me to continue but I have these joint pains, first along the hip, then both knees, shoulders. I think I'll unilaterally get off this and continue exercise and calcium intake and a strong vitamin regimen.

Are there still people experiencing hair loss with Fosamax? I have been taking it for about 4 years, have periodically had some hair loss, it would get better then start again. For the last month now it has been horrible. I read the "fine" print in the symptoms and it said that a "less common" side effect is hair loss. My bone density test do not show that much improvement anyway. I'm sure if I ask my doc he will say it has nothng to do with the Fosamax but I think it does! Has anyone stopped taking it and have they seen a difference in hair loss?

I've been on Fosamax for about 2 months. I have terrible pain in my upper arms. It hurts to put a coat on or reach behind my back.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Pisces

Someone is in a very boisterous mood today, and you may want to make yourself scarce after a short spell in their company. Their idea of a joke may be your idea of extreme rudeness, or they could take pleasure in being argumentative just for the sake of it. Don't let this person wind you up or you'll go off pop through sheer tension.
