I had never had a problem with any generic medication until this one drug. Brand-name Flonase worked great on my chronic sinusitis. Had a horrible burning sensation and recurring nosebleeds for the week I used the generic. All I can figure is I'm reacting badly to whatever solution the generic medication is dissolved in. My insurance won't cover the brand-name at all, so I had to switch to something else (Nasonex). It doesn't work as well as the Flonase brand, but at least I don't get nosebleeds like with the fluticasone generic.

First, glad I found this site to back me up. Second, to all the people calling us "plants" because they can take the generic with no side effects,... you're idiots. And furthermore, you should be ashamed of yourselves for suggesting that anyone with a valid symptom is a "plant" or imagining it. Maybe you were imagining your own sneezing that led you to the generic prescription in the first place, El Cheapo!
I digress. I just had my prescription switched from the PAR to the Apotex and it's a nightmare. I've got the headaches, an earache and now dizziness. I'm going to find the PAR locally and I'm even considering buying the name brand to get back to sanity! Sheeeesh! Thanks all. |

Hi All,
Thanks to this forum..I will be going back to the Pharmacy (CVS) and ordering the original Brand of Flonase. I purchsed the generic brand yesterday. The pharmacist handed me the Generic version stating that they're exactly the same. Years ago, I trusted the pharmacy on a generic brand of antibiotics which messed me up for a year. Since then , I always do my due diligence on every drug that I purchase. I happened to stumble upon this forum before my first application of this drug and it was disheartening to hear the side effects of the generic version. It's just appalling how profits take precendece over health. I don't think I will ever trust the FDA without doing my own research. |

My pharmacy has changed me over the years to each generic (PAR & Roxane). Now this week I received one produced by a company, Hi-Tech. Much cheaper looking packaging / bottle.
Before reading this site I never thought about the impact of the generic flonase on my allergies. I do know that since I was changed to generic fluticasone proprionate in 2006 - my rhinitis has become worse each year. Previously I did not consider whether changing to generic was the cause - now I'm seriously wondering. |

Hi all-
I was given the generic Flonase made my Apotex on Thursday, September 10th along with the generic Zithromax to help clear up the 3rd sinus infection in as many months. I started to feel a tiny bit better and then Wham! Since yesterday, I feel like I came down with the worst flu ever. Shaky, fever, weakness, achy all over, diarrhea (sorry). I'm done with the generic Zithromax. I'm going to hold off on the generic Flonase today and see how I feel. How fun!:-/ |
