In as much as Flomax is a smooth muscle relaxer, and in the absense of any other obvious contributing factors, I am curious about the possible connection between taking Flomax for 12 years and development of a neurogenic bladder

I am a first time user. The military has removed flomax from their Pharmacies, and I am wondering if the side effects out weighs the possitive ones. Thank you.

I am curious about the longterm effects of flomax and am currently considering removing myself from the drug to see if or how soon the original symptoms return.

Been taking Flomax for about 5 months and about 1 week afterwards I began to notice a general loss of strength. I can't lift and push has anyone else had this problem?

I began taking the medication on Saturday. I have worked out consitently for 2 years, 3x per week. I was keenly aware of a loss of stenght today and began to look on the web for side effects relating to strenght loss. I would estimate a 20% reduction in virtually every exercise. Your post was the only reference I found. I'll stick with it for awhile, please let me know if your symptoms continue. thanks

I started taking Flomax and noticed a rather quick drop in my distance throwing. I am in Masters Track and Field (55-59 age group) and throw the discus in competition. I should have been throwing 135-142 ft but dropped to 120-125 ft which basically takes me out of national level competition.

This is the first I've seen concerning weakness and Flomax. The prostate cancer foundation didn't have any data.

I am going to go off it and see if there is a return of performance.

I have had a reduction in discus throwing performance now for 2 1/2 months and it doesn't return no matter what I do.

Has anyone had a reaction, like anxiety, depression, and explosive behavior on flomax? My husband was put on flomax and within 4 days, his personality changed. He has been on it for a month. I called the doctor and they have now taken him off of it. Has anyone else had this type of reaction?

Hello everybody,
I see your questions, many of them are very the same as mine, but tell me please, who is supposed to answer them, and where to find answers if they've been posted already.
Thanks.

I've been taking Flomax for two months. I've had gum soreness. I don't know if the flomax caused it, but it's totally gone away since I stopped taking Flomax. I developed bad paranoid anxiety while taking it. I will not say it was caused by Flomax, but it has completely gone away after stopping the flomax for only a week. I've also experienced muscle weakness.

I've been taking Flomax for more than 5 years. Recently my blood pressure was so high, my doctor added micardis hct 80/28 mg with nifedipine to control the blood pressure.
My recent problem is I have ejaculation but it failed immediately.
What should I do?

After taking Flomax about 3 months, I feel generally stiff and sore and wonder if anyone else has similar symptoms. May not be related to Flomax but can't think what else it could be.

Been taking Flomax for three months and have a large reduction in bathroom visits. Besides the reduction in urination, I also have experienced a measurable growth in penis size, circumference and erection maintainence. Don't know if it's actually physical from the Flomax or a mental thing. I will tell you I will continue to take Flomax as my wife is estatic.

I've been on flowmax for 3 days and have no ejaculation on orgasm. Very strange. I'm outta here, the loss of orgasm isn't worth at best marginal improvement in nightly pee.

Lee, I too have been on Flomax for about three months. Initially I experienced headaches and heart palpatations. The Urologist changed the Rx. In the last six weeks I began to experience EXTREME fatigue and leg joint pain. I turned 60 in January and in all my life I have never needed to nap during the day. The fatigue on Flomax knocks me out for an hour at least and sometimes all night long. I found that taking two Tylenol in the middle of the afternoon has mitigated the fatigue to some degree. In the last two weeks though, I have experienced swelling of my legs around the sock line, particularly in the right leg. And cramping as well. I spoke with the pharmacist but his suggestion was to get back to the Dr., but no health benefits and only part-time work preclude that expense. As others have stated in other comments, I too continue to get up at least twice a night and the urge to urinate can be extreme, even during the day. I find I must go at least every two hours. I am thinking of stopping this expensive drug as I feel it is doing me more harm than good.
