The literature with Flomax indicates possible dental problems. Shortly after beginning Flomax (1 week) I began having severe gum pain. I am wondering if any others have had this reaction. Please let me know, since if this is somewhat common, I will have to discontinue.
Also, after one week, per advertising to the contrary, I have had no
improvement and definitely not as good as my previous experience with Hytrin. Any comments?

I have had gum pain and sensitivity on one side due to Flomax also. I then tried Uroxatral and had gum problems on the other side. I am back on Hyrtin which causes shortness of breath in the mornings but otherwise is ok. Gum problems have subsided.

My husband has been on Flomax for 6 weeks now. He has gone through mood changes, violence, depression, anxiety, and now is having gum disorders. Infections of the gums. He is also have severe problems with orgasms, ejaculations, and mental roller coasters from this drug. We asked the urologist if there was something else that he could take that would not have the side effects. We were told no. I ran into a run gentleman and his grand-father is going through the same problems with Flomax. Guys help me here. What other drugs can be used in the place of Flomax. I am also on an emotional roller coaster as the wife and partner here, and there is no support for us. What is Hytrin?

The doctor took just my husband off the Flomax. It was causing dental problems, anxiety, mood changes, depression, violence. Hooray, finally.

Have been on Flomax just over 3 weeks. A few days after starting, started being light headed and dizzy throughout the day. Standing up or going up stairs to fast almost causing me to blackout.
Then noticed ejaculation problems, that is NO ejaculation at all!
After about 2 weeks started having tooth and gun pain, especially on my left side, especially where I have a crown. After 3rd week has gotten worse. Also have been having worse back pain after starting Flomax.
Called Urologist and he told me to stop Floamx and gave me a sample of Uroxatral to try for a couple weeks. Laying off the Flomax after tonight and guess will try the Uroxatral in a couple days. Due back to the Urologist in a couple weeks and will asked about the Hytrin.
Flomax seemed to work with the urination problem after a couple weeks, but it still flares up occasionally. But the side effects don't seem good at all. Would LOVE to get off any of these drugs.

After six (6) days on Flomax, I passed out behind the wheel of my truck, crashing into the back of a wrecker towing another truck. I had no on-set of dizzyness, lightheaded or feeling sleppy. I was driving one minute and out cold the next. The day I passed out, I had forgotten to take my meds. So I was one day short of a week taking Flowmax.
The medical staff at the hospital checked me for bad heart, blood flow to brain and leasions of the brain. All negetive, they took me off the flowmax at discharge. I was told that many have experienced blackout using this drug.
I was lucky as I was in heavy traffic and only going about 35 mph. I had just pulled off the inner state where I was moving at close to 60 mph. Please be careful. Nothing close to this has ever happened to me before. I have taken controlled substance after back surgery and never blacked out.
Many states will take away your right to drive if you black out and can not prove you did not have a seasure or stroke. I now have to prove it was Flowmax that made this happen to me. I am 51 years old and took all precautions to avoid driving under influence of any drug.

Robert - I too (I'm 49) had a blackout a week or so ago after being on Flomax for a week. I was helping my dad with our grinder pump and just blacked out for an instant (barely caught myself before falling to the ground). Hasn't happened since.
But, like others, I've had the sore gum pain (which is gone now) but the most prominent is an extreme tenderness in my nasal area, almost like a broken nose feeling. I sneeze often, nose runs and I've had the dry cough spells.
Overall, Flomax hasn't knocked out my frequent urination problems; it helped my flow, but still have the dribbling at the end and actually it's increased my urgency to urinate (didn't have that problem before I started taking it).
Never heard of hytrin befoe I saw this thread.

I've been on FloMax for 3 months and have not had a single problem. I am pleased with the improvment with my pissing problems. It worked so well that I thought I was cured so I stopped taking it for 4 days. Guess what, my pissing problems are now worse than originally. I went back to using FlowMax today and I hope it will work as well as when I was using it.
Are there some of you that have had good results like I had?

I have been on flomax for about 4 yrs. No real big problems. Went off for awhile and had urination problems, went back on, everythings ok. I was looking for a genric brand, wasn't sure where I saw it. Ejaculation is still good, 58 1/2
yrs old, pretty happy with that.

I've been taking Flomax for 5-6 years and have had great results with my urinary problems. Not many complaints except random dizziness when turning quickly and slight loss of strength. hope the geberic gets cheaper.

This is common with Flowmax. After a few weeks I was able to ejaculate between 20 and 28 hrs after taking the med. Take the meds and the cycle began.

The first day I took the generic flomax (1/2 hour after dinner) I was extremely congested at night and had trouble sleeping because of sinus pain. I read the next day that if you take flomax just before bed it will help get you through the night without this problem...allowing you to sleep. I tried that method (tonight at 9:30 PM)-- This time I had severe gum/tooth pain on left lower jaw without significant congestion. Both nights I urinated with same frequency (3-4 times) but with increased flow. I am stopping today -- the benefit is not worth the pain.
P.S. I am writing this at 4AM -- can't sleep due to severe gum pain.

10 hours after taking my second dose of Tamsulsin (Flomax generic), I developed upper jaw pain. The pain is bad enough that I can't sleep. I Googled it and here I am at 3:00 in the morning. I will call the pharmacist in the morning.

It's probably best that you consult your physician who prescribed this medicine to you and check with an oral specialist about what you can do to alleviate the pain in your gums. The pain you're experiencing is not normal by most standards any longer. Before serious complications can result, find an alternative medicine or just discontinue taking this drug altogether. http://www.fosamaxclassactionlawsuit.com/onj/

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aries

Keep a firm grip on your money today to avoid anyone else getting their mitts on it. If you're out in public you should keep your wallet or bag clamped to your side, just in case it goes walkabout. You should also make sure you check any bills and invoices that you're given, in case they contain a mistake. It's a day when errors and deceptions are highly likely.
