And Lilly is concerned about the welfare of the patients? I think they and the other pharmaceutical companies are more concerned with the loss of $5.9 billion in sales annually where they are bypassed and the wholesalers from other countries sell the meds in more expensive markets...pocketing the difference! Sorry, you're going to have to come up with another excuse for this practice to be stopped in other countries. P.S. How do we in US get in on the lower costs? I use Evista.

Off the internet, drive to Canada, mail order from India...

Go ahead, and each time you pop a pill, pray it's really what you thought you were paying for.

What makes you think Lilly isn't outsourcing the production of those drugs to India anyway? I work at Lilly and we were told 60% of our work had to be outsourced by 2009! And that's just our department.
There's no such thing as American made anymore.

That is the case now, so give up your scare tactic and turn off your level threat yellow George. Just because the script was filled at your local CVS doesn't mean the product was manufactured in Indpls. As a matter of fact it probably wasn't. Parallel Importing in Europe is actually encouraged by govts. It is the same drug just priced differently. Pharma has been battling this for years, trying to label differently or changing the color of the capsule etc.

Lilly is only concerned with their bottom line....the many lawsuits and settlements prove that. They have NO regard for the people who take their dangerous drugs.

Nor do they have any regard for their own employees or retirees.

It's about time somebody takes on the drug companies.

Evista costs about $1.50 per pill. This is ridiculous- and the patent doesn't expire for several years yet.

There's no generic (yet) and the alternative prescriptions have more and or more sever side effects.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Taurus

The current planetary influences tend to make everyone groan a bit. Life is not perfect and may be less pleasant than usual, but what can you do? Get real for one thing! That's the way it is and once you accept this, everything becomes much easier to handle. Be solid and dutiful - qualities for which the Bull is renowned - and you'll come out the other side with your halo polished. Focus on some undeveloped potential in your life and take the first steps towards realising it.
