I am so proud that we have this great company in our state. Bravo Lilly! You are a model corporate citizen in this state, in addition to having shown your committment to treating people with cancer, mental health issues, and women's health issues consistently. I am pleased to work for this great company!

I am on Evisa and have been for over 2 years. Not only has it helped restore bone loss but I found out about a year ago it also helps prevent breast cancer. I will grow old gracefully!!!!!

My mother in law was just diagnosed with breast cancer at 76 years old. She also recently had a factured pelvic bone due to osteoporosis. It is obvious to me that this medication is needed and most women her age don't even realize the risk they face. She had never had a mammogram or had her bone density checked because her family physician never suggested either. She was not aware she should be requesting these tests from her doctor. We are hopeful and things look promising for her...but to think it is possible that by the time I'm her age there will be medicines to fight this is a wonderful thing.

I have taken Evista for approx. 5 years and have just been diagnosed with Stage 1 invasive breast cancer so Evista doesn't prevent breast cancer for all postmenopausal women. It has improved my bone density.

Does it work for both receptor negative and receptive positive cancers? I am triple negative and so far, everything that has come out has been for those who have positive receptors.

Where is the cure???

Eli Lilly began running ads for Evista, claiming that the drug offers a new way to prevent osteoporosis. However,
Evista's effect on fractures is not yet known. Osteoporosis causes many fractures. Also, a study has recently found that Evista raises risk of blood clots and fatal strokes in breast cancer patients.

Evista is indicated for the prevention of brest cancer. It is not an adjuvant treatment for someone who alresdy has it. Additionally, Evista will only prevent ER + breast cancer

Thanks PM MD...that is just what I figured. It will really be nice when triple negative women start to get the attention that women with positive receptors do. It seems like we are a neglected bunch, though I have heard that we are starting to get a little more attention. I would think that the scientists/researchers would be really interested in what drives triple negative cancers.
