I am on 375mg of Effexor XL... most people i have heard about have been on doses of 37.5mg or 75mg. Is anyone else on such a high dose as i am? i am starting to worry that I'm on an unusually high dose. If anyone else is on a high dose can they also tell me if they expirience the brain zings/zaps even if they take their medication at the same time every day? or if they sometimes get the horrible head rush feeling just as they begin to fall asleep?
much appreciated

WOW, I think you are way beyond recommended max dosage. I take 225mg a day. I got this from the Wyeth website. Major Depressive Disorder For most patients, the recommended starting dose for Effexor XR is 75 mg/day, administered in a single dose. In the clinical trials establishing the efficacy of Effexor XR in moderately
depressed outpatients, the initial dose of venlafaxine was 75 mg/day. For some patients, it may be desirable to start at 37.5 mg/day for 4 to 7 days, to allow new patients to adjust to the medication before increasing to 75 mg/day. While the relationship between dose and antidepressant response for Effexor XR has not been adequately explored, patients not
responding to the initial 75 mg/day dose may benefit from dose increases to a maximum of approximately 225 mg/day. Dose increases should be in increments of up to 75 mg/day, as needed, and should be made at intervals of not less than 4 days, since steady state plasma levels of venlafaxine and its major metabolites are achieved in most patients by day 4. In the clinical
trials establishing efficacy, upward titration was permitted at intervals of 2 weeks or more; the average doses were about 140 to 180 mg/day

I am on 375 mg generic form of Venlafaxin.

This is the max dosage they say - 375mg however I have also heard about people getting even 450 mg.

I´d like to say I am taking it for my anxiety, mostly social anxiety disorder and it´s almost gone since I am taking the generic form of Venlafaxin on 375 mg dosage for nearly 2 months which is " boosting " you with serotonin and noradrenaline, a little bit dopamin as well.

Daily Horoscope for November 24

Virgo

If you've been under pressure lately, you might reach critical mass today. The sensitive Moon clashes with the Sun, adding an edge to the mood in your relationships. You're likely to bite your room-mate's head off if your head isn't bitten off first... try to find something to laugh about to ease the tension. Those of you in intimate relationships can channel all this wild energy into passionate encounters, so avoid senseless bickering.
