I am refuting your claim that one cannot stop taking Effexor. Obviously, you have a problem that we don't have. Im sure that when you were trying to come off the drug, you werent so cocky. And if now your so happy now why are you sitting on the net hanging around in a depression forum. Some of us are really struggling to come off this shit, and most of us are emotional and dont need someone hassling us.

How can I get your email so I can join the suit? ECALS wrote: I have been taking Effexor 100mg/daily for well over 10 years. I have tried to wean off of this drug even with doctors for years, and the withdrawal symptoms are excruciating. I have suffered, my children suffered, family has suffered worried about me, I have lost jobs [not from depression] but from trying to withdrawal from this drug with no success. The drug specifics (the paper that comes with the drug that specifies the side affects, etc.) does NOT mention how difficult it would be to withdrawal from this medication. I am madder than h***! My doctor never told me how difficult it would be to get off this drug ---- even being weened off for months!! I asked my doctor how do I get off this drug!?! Her response was, "you have to see a psychologist", baloney! The problem is not my depression, it's the withdrawal symptoms!! A psychologist isn't going to cure the feeling like I'm being "electrocuted" that last for months - to only give up and go back on this drug! I have contacted an attorney and he thinks we possibly have a case here. I am forming a class action lawsuit, against the mfg. of Effexor - Wyeth Pharmaceutical. I need as many people as possible to jump on this train with me. Please email me your name, address, telephone number and your withdrawal experiences. Please write to: effexor_class_action_lawsuit @ yahoo.com . I feel it is almost impossible to get off this drug. I need your help to fight back, because I feel it is all about money to get the public addicted to this drug. Thank you, I appreciate your help. Anna effexor_class_action_lawsuit @ yahoo.com

Surely your mental capacity is not so diminished that you can't simply ignore my posts. Lighten up, dude. Your problem's not fatal, you know, just miserable. If you cannot understand my challenge to Mikki's insistence that people cannot withdraw from Effexor and that they are "stuck" with it, then you've missed my point altogether. Perhaps your mental capacity is, indeed, diminished.

I think that people may confuse withdrawal symptoms with symptoms that show that they still require an alternate treatment for their original condition.

If that is the only Symptom that is causing you this concern, I wouldn't worry. Once you have all of the drug out of your system that will be gone. I find that the physical symptoms are fading even though I have only been totally off of the drug for 13 days.

Yes I am in for sure on this suit. I have missed two days of work , today being a normal day off. Going to try and work tommorrow , but am kinda scared of driving . I have a 28 mile commute. My withdrawal symtoms two days ago were so bad I spent time on both an emergency room floor and an urgent care floor. The Dr. I finally got to see thought I was having a stroke. That is how bad off I was. I am 58.please get back with me.

I took effexor 10 years ago when my doctor prescribed it to help with fibromyalgia symptoms. After taking it a short while I had severe equilibrium problems, weight gain and memory loss. I was only on the drug for a few months and it did nothing for my fibromyalgia symptoms. To this day I still have severe memory problems to the point where I feel like I'm on the brink of Alzheimer's. Has anyone found anything that helps with this problem?

Here's a new one to look out for. I went through all the physical withdrawal or so I thought.Sat.at work Ibroke out in hives, by the time I got home my bottom lip was swollen, Yesterday my whole bottom of my face was swollen both lips and the whole jaw line. It was still there this morning, so I went into the Dr. He figures my body is having a stress reaction. Had to call out today and got treated like crap by my supervisor.

I was prescribed a higher than normal dose of Effexor to help with Fibromyalgia. It didn't work and it caused irritable bowel-so my dr. increased it again! On a trip to Europe, I asked doctors and pharmacists about Effexor and they advised me to wean off very slowly. They Did Not think I should ever have been prescribed this dangerous anti depressant. Two years of detox. And then I did homeopath and cleared the side effects- insomnia and equalibrium lasted for months after I stopped. I already had one illness- Fibromyalgia- this awful drug added another one-addiction. Please let me know how I can help this suit. I don't want this company to harm anyone else.

I would also like to be included. Been on Effexor XL 150 for 10+ years and have to take it, and pay for it, to avoid the hell of not taking it. I am in Canada. I will help fight this horrible drug every step! Been wanting to get off for years.

I have been trying to get some info on this site about a class action lawsuit, but I have come to the conclusion that it does not exist. Just a bunch of stories.

I was given this medicine after visiting the doctor because of a little trouble sleeping. I was fine at first, then I started having these terrible panic and anxiety attacks. I had never been through anything like that before, and the only problem I had was a little insomnia, so of course I visited the hospital quite a few times. I finally got off the medicine, however I have permanent anxiety that I have to keep Xanax on hand just in case it gets bad, not to mention a ton of other issues, migranes, dizziness, tinitus, and OCD problems. I never had these problems before Effexor and now I will have them for the rest of my loife.

I agree...I'm currently trying to withdraw and my M.D. doesn't understand why I'm having withdrawal symptoms. He keeps telling me I'm on the lowest dose - 37 mg/day. I'm 32 and have gained 40 lbs since on it. He asked me to come off it, but I am getting very sick every time I try. I do the following plan: week 1 and 2= skip monday, week 3/4, skip mon/friday, week 5/6, skip m/w/f, week 7/8, skip m/w/f/s. I don't know what to do...I feel like I'm addicted to Cocaine...although I've never had an addiction problem. I want to sue the bastards...this drug should be illegal!
