Diovan and diabetics

Has anyone noticed any rise in blood sugar after starting Diovan? A friend of mine is on Glucophage XR, Prandin 2mg, and Lantus insulin for Diabetes. He's been getting good results til lately..since starting Diovan. His sugar has been spiking for no reason it seems. Can't figure it out...neither can anyone else. Oh, yeah, his blood pressure is fine; that's a plus. Any suggestions?

I stopped taking Diovan a month ago and noticed my sugar is much easier to control. I also have a lot more energy now which makes exercise easier and more fun.

Is there a generic for diovan and is there any US citizens who have bought their diovan in canada i hear its cheaper

I have had similar blood glucose control problems since starting Diovan 80 mg. I have seen references to elevated blood glucose with Diovan HCT, but I only take Diovan. I also take Lantus and Humalog. My blood glucose spikes at odd times, and I need lots more Humalog than before. Previous posters: were you taking Diovan, or Diovan HCT?
