Yes. I am on Diovan and everything was fine, I thought, BP, went down, and I was attributing a lot of the side effects to menopause and my other medicine Prevastatin. Just recently I've noticed that my hair is really thinning and I've got this heavy feeling - that's the only way I can describe it in my neck and shoulders. I'm also feeling anxiety - jittery. Recently I've been having heart palpatations. This is all just too much. All these things have happened after I've lost about 12 pounds. I've decided to get off the medication! |

OMG!!!,Thanks to this site I think it saved my life. Been on Diovan for approx. 9 mos,a little vertigo at first but manageable, some ringing in ears(mild, otherwise OK(so I thought).I did not associate my increasing joint pain, hips and knees especially, my ever increasing difficulty walking and inability to climb even one step without fearing a fall as a side effect of this med. I was walking three miles a day last fall, now one mile on a treadmill(having to hold on for balance)is difficult.Just this past two weeks I had two episodes of urgency and urinary incontinence, and had I not have been home would have had bowel incontinence too.My thighs have been tingling, pins and needles and muscle cramps and spasms... popping/clicking in one hip, low back pain...difficulty sleeping more than two hours at a time due to muscle pain, inability to turn over in bed due to thigh pain...all these symptoms increasing by the week...read this forum last night.....stopped med ....already less pain in hips and thighs... can't wait until tomorrow I think there will even less THANK-YOU ALL!!!

As a retired Pharmacist, I am posting these side effects after taking 80mg. of Diovan, daily. Effects on my extremities(Hands and feet). I experienced an itching sensation, sometimes extreme on both hands and feet. My feet experienced a burning sensation. An unexplained blister showed up on the side of my hand, which I lanced, with a clear fluid draining, finally drying up. I also experienced skin peeling on both palms. After several hours of a heavy workout, my ankles became swollen. Needless to say, this class of drug does not agree with me. Oh yes, the occasional loose stool also developed on a semi-regular basis. Hope this helps someone.

I have had 2 bouts with diovan. 2 years ago, I started it (plus a few others) and after about a week or so I began to get severe chills. It was really bad at night, I would wake with a loud whooshing in my left ear, irregular heart beat (pvc's as often as every 3rd one missing for a stretch). Since I was so cold (or so I thought) I kept the house temp at 80 and wore clothes in bed. I would sleep for a few hours and wake up in a sweat. I was taking 320 a day. These effects didn't begin on day one, but only after a week or so, and my doctor sent me for tests for all sorts of things, all negative, even one for a tumor on the adrenal glands. The pvcs were scary so my doctor added in atenolol which helped. Finally after a month of this I stopped taking everything but the beta blocker and the diuretic. Within a few days all my symptoms were gone. Fast forward 2 years and the atenolol isn't doing the job. So, I increase the dosage, exercise more, and I can get it down to 150/90 and much less with more exercise (natch but doesn't last all day). Having some arm pain, I go for lots of tests, and get talked into taking exforge. What I didn't realize was that this is a combo with diovan 160. Guess what, after 1 week, all the same symptoms from 2 years ago, except now I realize the chills are really anxiety because I can get that to stop with lorazipam. Also helps is getting on the exercise machine at 3 am when it usually hits the worst. The sweating seems to be because I thought I was cold when I was really just having extreme anxiety that would feel like chills. By turning up the heat, my body would react with a sweat. The arm pain appears to be muscle-skeletal (from cervical spine problems) and not heart caused. So, after 2 years I finally know that it was the diovan since that's the only common denominator in the drugs then and now. And of course I find this thread and see all the others with similar reactions with anxiety.

I just quit Diovan because it wasn't controlling my BP. I was havingtremors and anxiety. I have been having insecure feelings and fights with my wife for the whole three weeks I was on it. The anxiety was so bad last night I wanted to die. Couldn't make a decision. Wanted to die. I was sitting in the bathroom crying and not knowing why. Swollen ankles. Sexual Dysfunction. Insomnia (never had it before). It was horrible.
Today I switched back to Hyzaar and BOOM, BP was in control again, and at about 5 pm I noticed my anxiety was starting to dissipate. I felt confident again. I know it seems wierd, but I have never had anxiety and hand tremors like this. I read in the product circular that in some allergic cases these symptoms can happen. Maybe I am allergic |

I have been taking Diovan for 2 weeks. I have noticed that I seem to be retaining fluids - I'm generally bloated.. My rings and bracelets do not fit anymore.
Does anyone else experience these symptoms? |

I had been on Diovan since last winter.Since the month of August this year, I feel like I am having a sinus symptom or allergy, my nose runs in the morning and at night it is stuffed, I cannot sleep at night, I am really suffering! I put Nasonex in my nose and I take Reactine, they are not working much. I am doubting Diovan, I have to go back and see my doctor in order to stop it or help me with something else. As a matter of fact it helped my bp. but, i think it is causing me a side effect.I wonder, if anybody feels the same way...
