Diovan-weight loss

Has anyone experienced weight loss from Diovan? I have been on the 80mg dose for about 5 weeks and dropped 8 pounds without any increase in exercise or change in diet. I have also experienced light-headedness and a weak feeling in my legs.

i have been taken diovan hct for about a year and lost 60 lbs i also stopped drinking soda's i only drink water but i do beleive that the diovan had alot to do with the weight lose

I just took my first 160 diovan. Are there any studies on the weight loss topic?

i have been on diovan 80mg for three years and my weight goes up and sometime it goes down. i also has experience swellen in the feet and ankles.

I have been taking Diovan 40mg for approximately one year after developing side effects from two other blood pressure medications, which included facial swelling from one drug and a dry, persistent cough from another. Since beginning the Diovan I have noticed a 10 lb weight loss.

I HAD BEEN TAKING LISINOPRIL FOR ABOUT TWO YEARS AND I JUST WENT OFF IT ,BECAUSE OF A BAD COUGH. IT WOULD TAKE MY BREATH AWAY AND I WOULD VOMIT. IT WOULD ALWAYS GET BAD MOSTLY AT NIGHT.SOMETIMES WHEN I EAT I WOULD START TO COUGH AND CANT STOP. THEY JUT PUT ME ON DIOVAN 160 MG , SURE HOPE I DONT HAVE THE SAME TROUBLES. Ruth I am with you! I took Lisinopril for only 4 months and called my dr thinking I had allergies! Certainly, a medicine couldn't make me cough to the point of gagging? LOL! Well, I was changed to DiovanHCT 160, and the cough went away within 2 weeks. I have experienced some weight loss, but I assume that is from "water-weight" since DiovanHCT has a diuretic in it. I really try to watch my salt, but there is so much hidden salt. I do have brief episodes (maybe once a week, of dizziness or fatigue) but I'll take that over a 24/7 cough!

I'm on diovan 160mg and I am having loss of appetite and weak feelings in my legs. Has anyone experienced this? I'm also getting extremely dry sinuses. I want OFF all of these horrible meds. Although, if I have loss of appetite I wouldn't mind that for 6 months. LOL you can email me at [e-mail]...Thanks

I to have experienced weight loss.Are you taking the white pills or the pink pills?If its the pink pills it may be because of the diuretics.

Just given a course of 80mg diovan by my doc.
my previous tabs 'exforge' made my ankles swell in the evenings.
other previous tabs were micardis taken with perindipol, they worked the best but lowered bp too much. did not have any side effects, may ask the doc to change back to them on a lower does if the diovan cause probs. any comments? lyn.

My 82 year old father on Diovan has absolutely no appetite, nausea, that seems to have started with this medicine.

Should drop in about 4hrs from my expirence

No side effects for me other than weight gain of 10 lbs in 6 months- mid-section - Have to work on losing that!

I have gaine 50 pounds on Diovan HCT. Really bad for me and I wish I could stop taking it.

I have experienced just the opposite. I switched from Diovan 80mg to Lisinopil and have lost about 15 lbs in a month.

I took Diovan 80mg for a year and 160 mg for the last year, I powerlift 4 days a week as well as jog for last 20 years. I went from a solid 240 lbs up to a bloated 290 lbs, with the only change being diovan. I stopped diovan 3 months ago and have lost 15 lbs. I feel better than I ever have while taking diovan.
