I recently discovered that this brand of Diltiazem contains hydrogenated vegetable oil (HVO). HVO has been known to help oxidize LDL proteins to the inside walls of coronary arteries. So why would a pharmaceutical company include it in their heart meds? The reason is in the patented extended release process, but that does not make it OK to take in my opinion. Especially if you already have severe coronary disease.
