Hi Morganna, Hope you are feeling well today. Thanks for replying. We rented a very old farm house in England for a year which had black mould (English spelling) all over the walls and thats when my symptoms appeared so you are on the right track about it being linked to mould in the enviroment but I feel I was already weak in my immune system because of the amount of antibiotics to fight this.

I have spoken to my GP today and she is reluctant to prescribe more than 50mg of Diflucan per day for 2 weeks as that is the limit in Britain that she is allowed to give. This has made me worried as I dont think it is strong enough. We can buy it over the counter in 150mg dose as a treatment for thrush but are advised to take this only once a week max.

Nystatin is unavailable in the UK as are all other antifungal drugs that you mentioned (nasal sprays). America seems to be so far advanced in trying new things. She says she will work out a long term amount of Diflucan if I feel better after this.(wish I lived in America there is so much more research done where you are. I used to keep Terrapins (small turtles they were often slimy and I have wondered if they had anything to do with me getting sick.(Its just a theory just in case anyone sees a link with this).

Also I have been drinking PURE GREEN TEA which takes some getting used to but it means I can avoid drinking milk which I think creates more mucous. It makes your mouth feel clean.I am a vegetarian and have always ate alot of raw veggies but have wondered about cauliflowers as they are supposed to not be so good for you raw as they can have mould/fungus on them (someone told me this once who was a chef so I dont know if its true or not).

Our house at the moment is a new one and all the walls are white hav'nt seen any mould yet anywhere.(will be keeping my eyes open though). We live in the Lincolnshire countryside and air is pretty good here.

Its so nice to talk with you but you must be so drained with all this by now. I will keep on with in pursuit of being normal again and let you know if I find anything interesting. I am visiting a chinese natural therapy clinic soon and will let you know if I find any wonder drug which has been hidden for centuries.(If I do We will probably have to remorgage the house to afford it no doubt). Anyway must keep positive.

I know exactly what your going through with the diflucan because Doctors refused to give me enough meds too, which is why I had to move 2 times and see many doctors and even come in with printed materials from the Mayo Clinic and sometimes raise my vioce and inform them I am on the web doing Doctor reviews,( this last one worked pretty well). The exposure to mold and then to antibiotics is a very familiar one and that is exactly what happened to me and many others. I think you may be able to fight it -if its true you are now in a mold free environment, and I would stay away from cauliflower if that is what you heard, corn I also heard is usually mold compromised.
I think if you do the combination of drug antifungals, the diet, the Light therapy , probiotics and the irrigation,(wild oregano oil I heard is good), along with the probiotics, in time I think you can fight this. I would recheck the bathroom and fridge however because some molds canot be seen , nor can you smell it. I would clean the bathroom walls if they are tile etc with slightly diluted bleach or ammonia but not mix both. I do this everyday, and there is a window there so I get good ventilation. The fridge too keep it clear of humidity and keep it clean, I would invest in a ozone generator to clean veggies and ozonate water, its been working for me and ozone clean pesticides from fruits and veggies.
Lastly about the Antifungal drugs. I read in France that Amphotericin B oral Powder is available w/O a script.
I make my own antifungal nasal sprays, its just the pure powder form ,(usually injectable or oral is good) of the drug mixed with either sterile water or saline. This is probably gonna upset these companies who are profiting from the mix, but I have spoken to them and asked what it is and they (hesitantly) told me what actually goes in the nasal sprays. That is usually the way it goes in a Capitolistic Society, they take something very simple repackage it and sell it for a lot more than the actual worth. The easiest antifungal to get is the NYSTATIN ORAL POWDER, please check again about it's availability this works well and is an old and known to be safe antifungal, its good because it can be swallowed, swished or mixed with water to create a spray or rinse. Its been mentioned by Doctors in the links I have posted as well as patients. I have used this myself.

I wonder if they will ever reeducate doctors to recognise this disease or do you think that is so rare and we are so few that they think it can be ignored I think it would be a breakthrough for sinus sufferers if they addressed this problem rather than brushing it under the carpet. How many needless surgery's are performed I wonder when all that might be needed is the right antifungals. Surely in this day and age we should be able to test accurately for mould and fungus in the Human body.

I wanted to share a way to make your own sinus irrigator , its one that I put together, get yourself an on Sale Oral Irrigator then cut off the rubber tip of an ear cleaning bulb ( about 1 inch cut off the end) and Voila ! It works great, you don't need to pay a lot of money for a Sinus irrigator and this doubles to clean you teeth and gums too!

DR Marinkovich says that bleach doesn't kill the mycotoxins but rather reccomends diluted ammonia. I have read elsewhere that hydrogen peroxide is used by some mold professionals... to clean ( not the 3%kind) I joined the candida support yahoo group and the Doctor there also not only reccomends hydrogen peroxide therapy but another way to use it would be to clean off molds around the home.
I think Guardian of Eden is where most poeple get thiers.

Hi everyone, I wanted to say some important things about my progress and treatment. I have found a wondeful group called Candida Support on Yahoo. The leader of this group , Bee has a very comprehensive and different diet, its been helping me and its very different from other candida diets, hers is the only one that actually excludes ALL POSSIBLE SOURCES OF SUGAR, even yogurt is a no no if you have a mold problem in the body and it makes sense for me and its working for me too.
I feel better and have more energy and I am even losing wieght. This program doesn't really focus on the sinus but I do believe for many people it co-exists with a over all fungus problem.
One thing though which is most important for poeple with a fungal sinus infection is,

1-YOU MUST GET RID OF THE SOURCE OF MOLD YOU ARE EXPOSED TO.
If not the strongest antifungals may not work, as in my case.

2-DIET is very important and part of the cure, even if you are on a antifungal you may not experience a long term cure if you do not stay on the diet for a long period of time. and I suggest you go on the diet by BEE , its more complete and I feel its the best antifungal diet out there.
3-I have written how I was sort of against natural cure but I have since changed my mind, I think the reason none of those thing made a difference for me was because I was still breathing in mold in my home. Once you get out of the situation I do feel that non milk based probiotics work and should be utilized along with diet and antifungals etc. watch out for prebiotics and threelac is NOT RECCOMENDED.
Coconut oil etc is great too, Just go to Yahoo groups Candida support for more info.

Hi Morganna, everyone. I have been trying out sinus wars 2 (the one for post nasal drip ) and it has not made any difference at all. What a rip off. cost £23 (english) around $47 for some tiny tablets. Thought they had started to work at first but think this was due to the fact I was on holiday in Greece which was very hot . I always feel bettter in a hot climate. I feel so blocked up in my throat with all this postnasal drip mucus. It smells really bad. I dont really eat sugar but do drink alot of wine. (Imust go to rehab soon). The only thing that has worked for me so far is Diflucan which made me feel much better but then my doctor said she wasnt sure if she could prescribe any more than a 2 week course. If I had nice breath I think I would be the happiest person on the planet. People dont realise how hard it is living with this. I could live with the pain and everything else if the horrrible smell was gone. I am such a sociable person It is ruining my life.Somebody out there must be able to treat this. I live in hope.x

Paula, The best rinse and way to clean your teeth and mouth is diluted peroxide and baking soda. Mouthwashes and pastes often contain sugar or sugar substances which fungus and bacteria can feed on. I do not suggest you take a short course of diflucan, it will work for a short time and you will just relapse as I did. Wine is a definate no no.
your breath is a result of fungus and yeast from your mouth, esophagus, sinus etc. It can also go full body meaning your digestive system if it hasn't already. The only way to cure your fungus is to follow a strict diet along with antifungals, best and safest is nystatin. I have said it before and I will say it again, you should go to the yahoo suport group.

Hi Paula,whilst trawlng for info on Sinus Wars we found your comment. Can only reiterate what you say as I tried Sinus Wars 7 for PND and mucus/blocked nose but found it had no effect and don't like paying for something which doesn't do what it says on the tin. Have tried to contact them by e-mail as they state they would like "to stay in touch and get feedback" but they can't even bother to reply(yet).

Has the anti fungal meds or nasal spray cured or ended your sinus infections for any of you?

Sherry I learned the hard way that without the proper diet no meds however strong will cure me. Fungus and molds have a way of adapting to many drugs and because of this, starving the fungus and strengthening your immune system is vital. The best Diet and info I have found so far has been from yahoo groups which I mentioned.
My infection did start in my sinus but I found that no matter how much I irrigated or sprayed , the fungus kepted coming back. None of the Doctors I ever saw had any real answer for me and this experience has greatly affected my feelings for the medical profession in general.
Some people may feel the diet is difficult to stick with but its worth it in the end, I was so desperate I considered surgery which I am glad I didn't do because the reoccurrance rate is high. Again referring to the sprays, after I started the diet I actually irrigated and sprayed my sinus LESS not more, but the diet and protocol worked better. MY PND is at a minimum now, and I only use my antifungal spray every few days.
So my final answer to you Sherry is, the anitfungal sprays are not that promising of a prospect, even the Mayo clinic and the company who works with them to formulate the sprays have admitted that you may have to use it " Indefinately" that doesn't sound like a cure to me at all.
If you decide on an antifungal,in addition to the diet, Nystatin is one of the safest,it can be taken for long periods safely, and if you still at some point want to use sporanox,(because sporanox kills a wider variety of molds) you will find it works a lot better at a lower dose because you are following the correct diet.

If you read my more recent posts I stress that diet is very important if not essential. But My Doctor is pretty understanding when it comes to this disease.
Dr. Jorge Braun. ENT He is located in New York though.
although I am back in Jersey , when I lived here prior I found the doctors here much less informed in general, that may have changed though.
I have spoken to Dr. Croft and he will do a skin test and I think he can also prescribe meds.

One more thing Andrea. Because fungus is so adaptive, Some peope Rotate antifungals every 4 days.
YOu can use Nystatin oral powder internally and also mixed for the sinus, and perhaps rotate this with sporanox. Sporanox is powerfull and not good for your liver, I would start with a diet and Nystatin first. For some poeple if the probelm is yeast and mainly digestive, sporanox may not even work.
AS I mentioned earlier, my need to irrigate or spray my sinus has subsided as I changed my diet.
Andrea -the only way you can fight fungus is to be completely educated, there is no short and simple cure.
Diet truly is a very important part.

I am new with the posting sites, I had a hard time just figuring it out. I went to the candida support group and signed in but where is the diet? I have had fungus cultured from my nose 3 times from Dr. Tichenor in NYC, I am not really crazy about him though and I had a bad reaction from Vfend that I took for 2 months. My hair started falling out and I became really sensitive to the sun, this was July and August - In November I went to the dermatologist to see about my hair and I had melanoma on my back, I think it had something to do with the Vfend (Vorconazole).
I am not sure if what I have now is a fungus or bacterial infection but I have been battling it for 3 weeks now. I get some black (small strands when I irragate) not much and green too. The doctor I saw on Monday did a culture but when I called yesterday for the results he did not check for fungas, even though I told he I have had it before.
How do I go about finding the list of doctors you mentioned? Thanks for your help.

From what I see its Fungus, that is exactly what comes out of my nose, and PLEASE do not make the mistake I did, by taking antibiotics. It made my condition a lot worse and go full body.
I do not think you need all those strong drugs, the safest one is Nystatin Oral powder and is also listed by BEE on the site.
But perhaps you need to detox from all the drugs first before you even Nystatin.
Andrea, I went through years of torture but I am better now. YOU MUST MAKE SURE you are not still exposed to environmental molds, and the best MOLD KILLER IS Actually peroxide. Order the Guardian of eden 30% and dilute it to clean your house etc.
I can give you my Doctors phone number but at this point since you already have the diagnosis from Tichenor , all you need now is for you to get him to agree to a script for Nystatin oral powder later on and you need to start the diet-Andrea.
Because you need to make your whole system un-hospitable to FUNGUS.

Its the best one out there and easiest to follow, she stresses good fats , coconut oil and supplements. There quite a lot of info there but its worth reading through her files and you can post questions.
