Yes,and I can not get it off. It is a size effect to the drug that I do not like.

I have the same worry. That Destrol may be causing weight gain.

Hi Ladies,

I have gained 15 lbs since June and I'm just now checking out weight gain information for the pill. The information pamplet does not say anything about weight gain but several web sites say so. Has anyone talked with their Doctor about this weight gain?

I actually had the same experience, as I had been taking Detrol LA for a couple of weeks for kidney stones---my abdomen was very bloated, I was very hungry and I gained about 8 pounds in a 2 week period of time. It does say that rapid weight gain is a side effect.......I stopped taking it and started on Flomax, and my bloated belly went away and I feel more like myself. I also was experiencing dizziness and grogginess while taking it. I don't have that anymore since I stopped and started on the Flomax.

It has been driving me crazy I couldn't figure out why I keep gaining weight and nothing works to lose it. Finally thought maybe it's the Detrol and when I saw all of these comments it made total sense. I am going back on Sanctura it never caused weight gain. What a nightmare I can't wait to shed the extra weight.

Did you start taking a different bladder medication or did you go cold turkey. I also have gained weight on Detrol and I just switched to Sanctura hopng that the weight would start coming off but nothing after 2 weeks.

I have been on this medication for years... and for years my weight has been creeping up. In the last two months I have gained 10 pounds which seems to be excessive. I don't know if it's the detrol or hitting 50 but I'm going to stop taking it. I'll learn how to plan better!

I have been taking Detrol LA for the past five years. I have put on 30 lbs. However, I don't blame this drug entirely for that. I need to exercise more. But there have been other issues lately, so I decided to stop taking it. The dry-mouth effect was tolerable, but I have dry skin, dry scalp, sleepy during the day, narcolepsy, restless leg, vision changes (getting older? maybe) and too many side effects to continue with this medication. I may just go for surgery and give up trying to deal with over active bladder problems.

I have gained 35 lbs since taking this drug I'm also 51 maybe it is the age but dies and excercise are doing nothing. I'm going to stop taking it for a while and see if it makes a difference. My sister is also taking the drug and is having the same problems.

That is encouraging, I'm on day two of not taking it so we will see after a month if I can lose any weight.

I'm going cold turkey, if I cut down on my diet pop the caffine seems to irritate the overactive bladder. I haven't heard of the medication you are on is it new?

Connie are you seeing any immediate weight loss? I just stopped taking it myself, gained at least 10 lbs in the last few weeks...

Daily Horoscope for May 22

Aries

Keep a firm grip on your money today to avoid anyone else getting their mitts on it. If you're out in public you should keep your wallet or bag clamped to your side, just in case it goes walkabout. You should also make sure you check any bills and invoices that you're given, in case they contain a mistake. It's a day when errors and deceptions are highly likely.
