average sleep

I was just wondering how many hours on average of sleep that those who take Valproic Acid are getting. I find I need at least 10 hrs/night and am trying to reduce this, but need to know if it's tied to valproic.

Try reading or listening to Psalms (it's a book in the Bible).........very relaxing!!

I think your sleep may be linked to something else or you need to talk to your dr. about am adjustment. Everyone's different.

Has anyone seen a new Depakote with "u-s 182" on the pill? Is it safe to take if I've been taking NS ones? The RX guy said it was time release.

Depakote makes me sooo sleepy during the day I have to fight sleep and I have 2 kids to take care of so my doc suggested that I take both tablets (500mg ea) at night and now I am less sleepy during the day and I still get up early and get about 8-1/2 hours of sleep per night.
are you on anything else along with Depakote?

Jeff -- I believe the U-S 182 is a code that is put on generics that identifies who the manufacuter is. Here is a link about it.

I started vp and I am sleepy all day. I take 3 hrs nap during the day and sleep 12 hrs at night. I'm tired. .....
