Hi Veronica - I know it's been a while since you posted, but I'm just getting started on the levo meds and just came accross this forum...anyway you MUST give this some time. It's only been 2 weeks for me but I have noticed no weight gain OR loss. I'm only on 25mcg however to start. I HAVE noticed a little more hair loss in the shower in the past week but it's nothing THAT bad. I've read that this symtom goes away after the meds "level off". So don't panic...try to be patient. Your doctor should keep on top of your blood tests and he should also take into account your symtoms and what you SAY to get the correct dosage. I have faith that if I do this myself that eventually i will have the dosage that WILL help me with losing weight and getting all the BENEFITS we want with this stuff - which is supposedly why we're taking it in the first place - right? SO.. be patient (I know it's hard)and don't go off the meds on your own either as that could be dangerous. Talk to your doctor about ANY concerns/side effects. I have heard a lot of scarey stuff too but there are PLENTY of SUCCESS stories as well - people feeling better - losing the weight etc.(unfortunately, you just don't hear as much about THOSE)lol! And keep posting so we can compare notes from "accross the pond"!! Good luck in the meantime.

PS - CAN ANYONE ANSWER WHY ARE DOCTORS SO HESITANT ON PRESCRIBING THE CYTOMEL T3 WHEN IT SEEMS TO HELP SO MANY! Especially with symtoms and weight loss. It seems like a lot of pple who are on a combo of T4 such as Levo and T3 Cytomel have the best results. Doesn't T4 only have to get converted to T3 anyway? So why not just start with that! OLIVIER ARE YOU STILL OUT THERE??? Perhaps you can answer or anyone else who has any idea or experience with this.

Hi Cathy i am also in Malaysia and in the same boat as you unable to get Cytomel due to doctor's prejudice. Have you found a solution yet? Do let me know if you have as I am also not comfortable with T4 alone
